I don't know how many military men in the US wear bras, ear rings, or hair buns, but China realizes that a sissy can be killed while he puts his make-up on.

My cousin told me about this effete young caucasian man named Oli London who is in love with South Korea. He has been getting plastic surgeries to make himself look Korean. He is even getting his penis surgically reduced to be more Korean.

Yes, he has been on Dr. Phil. He has some kind of mental illness.

Doesn't sound to me like he's that in love with them if he's really doing that.

I've heard about this guy; read articles, watched a video that included him as part of the content. My opinion is, "Meh." If he wants to identify as Korean, go for it. And that black white lady from California, too. If she identifies as black, let her.

It makes more sense to me than identifying as someone with different plumbing than you have, especially if you are doing it so you can win at sports, sexually or physically hurt a real woman, want to legally expose yourself to women and female children in women-only spaces (like dressing rooms), or because you (fill in the blank).

I don't think one can change cultures as easy as changing a pair of shoes. Yes, some people have complex cultural backgrounds, but a place like South Korea has a very complex culture, which is quite different from the west even today - it's not all silly K Pop and a few food items, it's having that weird and dangerous neighbour to the north (where you may have relatives), it's the complex history with Japan, and China, the fact it self-evangelised itself into Christianity (to the point a 1/3 are Christian)... and a whole host of things I don't have a clue about, and I doubt this creature does either.

Even somewhere like the USA. I understand a lot about the USA, but there are certain aspects of American life that I've never experienced like growing up there. I could assimilate better as an American (despite the accent) than a Korean, but I would always retain some unAmerican characteristics. (Not "unamerican" in the McCarthyite sense!!!)

You make a lot of sense.

It reminds me of when I took language classes in Chinese, French, and Spanish. The Spanish teacher was Mexican by culture, though I think he was born in the U.S. (he made the comment that he had to get back into speaking English because he'd only spoken Spanish all summer). The Chinese teacher was from China. The French teacher had gone on a mission to France (and spoke the language like a native as far as I could discern). The Spanish teacher and the Chinese teacher could answer any questions we had about the cultures because they were intimately associated with them, however, the French teacher could not answer some of our questions because he had grown up the the United States. However much time he had spent in France (2 years and whatever else), it was not enough for him to know it intimately enough to answer any question a student might have .

I have a friend who is Korean and comes over here most years. I learn things about Korean culture all the time. I don't think it's something a Westerner is just going to slip into.

I know a lot of black people have been going nuts about all these white people pretending to be black. I'm not talking about rap wannabes, but white people who actually claim to be black. I know of at least seven of these folk. Is this to be the next trend when transgender conquers all? I suppose when globalisation destroys all in its path then we'll hear the old "it's just a social construct" garbage.

I think it's hypocritical to be completely supportive of a man pretending to be a woman (and being put in women's sports, women's prisons, and going into women's restrooms, etc.) or a woman pretending to be a man, but get very hysterical if someone says they are your race. Incredibly hypocritical - and that was really the point I was trying to make in my first post on the subject.

I, personally, feel like it is a lot less dangerous to cross race or cultures than to cross gender/sex boundaries. And it is just as difficult for a man to be a woman (or vice versa), as it is for a white person to be black or Korean. In both cases, they don't know as much about the culture as they think they do.

Exact opposite of enlarging your Johnson.
"Shrink a Dink" would be a good name for it.
