From an LDS spiritual perspective, its a reasonable assumption to make that planets do have some intelligence to them, but from the scientific perspective, it doesn't seem to be a reasonable hypothesis... at least at first glance. How would one even go about trying to test that out?

Can planets be intelligent (from Scientific POV)?
So here's an interesting video that I stumbled across on one of the Astronomy channels that I follow, which raises an interesting question that I and I'm sure plenty of others have considered from a spiritual perspective: Can planets develop intelligence.

*slight note: Its talking about the Biosphere more than the actual planet.

Interesting and I’m going to say yes. The earth groans under the sin existing on it, as the scriptures say

The idea that either/both of these can have intelligence is not a new one at all.
The novel (and films) "Solaris" are based on such a concept. The planet tries to communicate with the human characters, but because they are so different, they do not understand each other.
With the Earth, it's called the Gaia hypothesis, and it's highly fashionable among Greenies.
