Like so many things, what starts off as just a sentiment or convention often turns into a retroactive "revelation" to justify its shift to dogmatic. Tail wagging the dog.endlessismyname wrote: ↑February 18th, 2022, 11:19 am The language suggests that the direction provided regarding the pandemic was from the Lord Himself.

I, too, couldn't get past the first paragraph. Could easily be rephrased, "We are grateful that the government has heard the prayers of so many..."Trucker wrote: ↑February 18th, 2022, 1:02 pmI don't like the sentiment that the reason for loosening the mask wearing is due to "the Lord hearing the prayers" of the members. I expect we will see eventually mandates back off for everything with covid and the covidians will declare it to because of their wise and thoughtful measures they took to defeat covid. In reality, the virus has mostly taken its course, burned through the population, like just about all viruses do, and eventually peters out. But no, it's really due to all the social distancing, mask-wearing, and vaccines that they good people did (which the bad people opposed).

They asked my son to pass the sacrament before the announcement was made. He said no since he didn't have a mask. (He only wore one to bless the sacrament and was rarely asked anyways) They said that he didn't need it anymore and that they were announcing it in a few minutes. I haven't worn one at church since June of last year, even though it was CA law. In TX the people wore it because of the FP letter. It was nice to see 98% unmasked once they read the announcement. I wish temples were optional.

Re: NEW MASK GUIDANCE FROM FP
People aren't dying of 'covid', they are dying of mass psychosis. The physical is only a manifistation of the mental and emotional state. But that won't wash with the Bed Wetters. They prefer the hysteria of the media, the "medical" crew, and Bad Pharma. Their addiction to pills, and jabs soothes their fears...I guess.Ciams wrote: ↑February 22nd, 2022, 10:56 pm The fact of the matter with regards to the temple or masks in general, if you are part of the vulnerable population, where you have a high chance of death if you get covid, you are a freaking moron if you think spending time with crowds of people is a good idea just because you have a mask.
Literally, if people are dying from catching covid, that mask policy is killing them. There is no excuse to tell a vulnerable person they should feel safe in the temple with a mask on. If they might die, that advice is deadly.
If you are at risk of death, stay home or go out and take your chances. We've known for 2 years now the majority of people hospitalized reported wearing a mask all or most of the time. The mask didn't stop that hospitalization.
If there's a danger and you're concerned, don't go. Let those who are healthy or willing to accept the risk go.

Re: NEW MASK GUIDANCE FROM FP
We meet in a ward house where the ward of a very significant member of the Q15 attends. We attend his ward when we can't make it up for our own ward's 9 am block meetings
This week and suddenly, no masks whatsoever; undoubtedly due to this new guidance . . . . . from 98% masks to zero.
My wife who attended said a bishop's counselor got up and announced they would no longer be required and thanked all those who didn't think they were necessary but wore them out of respect for the prophet.
Of course, no remarks thanking those who took the shots out of respect, etc., for the prophet; or any apparent understanding of how non-mask wearing and non-shot taking were linked.

Re: NEW MASK GUIDANCE FROM FP
We received our usual weekly ward e-mailed newsletter and this week the newsletter included the announcement that masks are not "required" any more. No mention of that anywhere else, and I'd say 95% mask-free meeting today. No one in front wearing one, only a precious few still hanging on to their security blanket in the congregation. This was in Stillwater OK.
