First Aid Kit
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good first aid kit that I can add to my preparation supplies?
Thanks

Re: First Aid Kit
Personally, I've found it better to make my own. Just find a good container, preferably waterproof, and look for lists of stuff you'll need to have in there. There are several online that can be found, including lists of herbal items to put in the first aid kit (I have a list here as well if you want me to PM it to you). Most preparedness books have a list of first aid items as well.
It's not hard to do and for what you get out of it I feel it's worth the time spent planning and acquiring (or making if you want to add a triangular bandage or two).

Re: First Aid Kit
I agree about making your own.
A few suggestions ; if possible a kit for burns, also if you know anyone working in a doctor's office, order some anesthetics, suture, scalpel, etc...masks,gloves,goggles, lice killer, thieves oil, tick remover, upset stomach remedies, pain killers, tooth ache remedies. If I think of anything else I will let you know.
We are at that time of the year when we go through our 72 hr kit ( every gc ) so I will be careful about our first aid kit and let you know what else would be good.

Re: First Aid Kit
Thanks for your comments. The make my own route was kinda the way I was leaning. I would definitely be interested in the list of herbal meds. If you get time and can PM that to me that would be great!
Thanks

Was there a skilsaw in that list? On a side note, my wife thinks I'm crazy but I picked up some KI-03 pills and some N95 type masks for our first aid kits. Wish I could afford the full-on gas masks!

Re: First Aid Kit
No, no skilsaw.
Not much time, so I'll just post the links and elaborate tomorrow... if there's any need.
We're big Dr. Christopher fans, so the list of stuff we have in our family's first aid kit is based on the list of products they have in their herbal medicine kit. It can also be found in this document (can't find it on the official website right now... will add that link when I have time tomorrow).
(On a side note, for those who want to learn more about herbs and natural healing, the School of Natural Healing is currently offering their introductory natural healing course, the Family Herbalist course, for $100 online. It's regularly around $500. This price is a promo to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the birth of Dr. Christopher, so I would imagine this is a good time to peruse their site. FYI: We don't make a dime off promoting their wares.)
Here's another herbal first aid kit list from one of our favorite places for herbs.

Re: First Aid Kit
I believe those are what you take in case of a nuclear attack. You take them up to 6 hours before the attack, or within a half an hour after an attack to save your thyroid. But what are KI-o3 pills
