And what was the result of the Vietnam war and its aftermath? Let's see: 1) China attacked Vietnam in a 5 month war after they stepped into Cambodia to try to reign in Pol Pot (they left Cambodia 10 years later, ~1989; so much for the "Domino Effect"); 2) Columbia Sports wear set up a major manufacturing presence there; 3) 7-10 years ago, they hosted the Miss Universe contest; and finally, 4) Hillary visited them trying to enlist their aid in the 'War on terrah". They declined.

I'm sure there are more similar high points, though . . . . .

China has about 60 times as much.

I've always worried if they ban lead for munition projectiles, and settle on tungsten as the only allowable substitute, we're screwed.

In the early US takeover of S Vietnam, N Vietnam had the richest tungsten resources. Apparently tungsten "is necessary for the production of ballistic missiles". The US was determined to be on top of the global weapons' industry.

China is on top of the list today, but in the beginning of the war in Vietnam, North Vietnam had the largest resource.

A high school friend's father was a merchant seaman out of Portland, Oregon. During a visit to their home, the father spread out the bill of lading for the ship's cargo to which he had been assigned on the kitchen table. The entire cargo of tungsten mining equipment was to be delivered to Vietnam.

And, of course, the US is, once again, making the 'world safe for democracy'. https://ua.usembassy.gov/embassy/kyiv/s ... n-program/
