Goldback Scavenger Hunt

The Zarahemla Foundation is sponsoring a fun and interesting event: A Goldback scavenger hunt!

On March 3rd (in Lehi, UT) we will have a lecture about the legal, historical, and moral aspects of monetary systems with specifics on Goldbacks. This is a Thursday evening at 6:30p.m. We will have a representative from Goldback, Benjamin Shaffer to tell us all about them. After the lecture we will distribute 4 Goldbacks to every participant (exchange value of $15.20 currently). The game will be to go out into the community on Friday and Saturday to see what you can purchase with the Goldbacks you were given. We will reconvene on Saturday evening at the same time, 6:30p.m. for a show-and-tell session. Everyone will bring the items they purchased and tell us stories about their successes and failures.

There is a $15 refundable deposit for participating in the Goldback scavenger hunt. The deposit will be refunded when you return on Saturday for the show-and-tell session. Space and supplies are limited. See the link below for more details and to register.

Just giving this announcement a bump. This is an excellent opportunity to do something meaningful that will advance Liberty. Often we protest, and write letters to our representatives, but this is an opportunity to do something for our financial liberty.

Article I, Section 10 of our Constitution states that: "No State shall... make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts"

Our government has long since disregarded this legal constraint and they see no wisdom in it whatsoever. They would much rather print more money to cover debts, and drive inflation up. This amounts to an invisible tax on we the people. We end up paying an ever greater proportion of our income for goods and services, and any money we have saved slowly leaks its value - which is taken by the government as it prints money to waste upon its own bloat and waste.

The Goldback Scavenger Hunt is a community based scavenger hunt where participants are provided with clues about some goldback (M. stanfordi) locations throughout California. Participants then use their imagination to try to find the location using only a map. There are three tiers to this competition; first place winners from each tier receive a prize package that includes a t-shirt, hoodie, backpack, sticker book, pen, pencils, hat, sunglasses, and stickers. You can participate in any time and at no cost. All proceeds go directly towards supporting our scientific research efforts and providing education to children and adults alike.
