It is time to be positive in a dark, dreary world of evil. We may be endangering innocent people with negative rants.
What do you mean by "positive" and "negative"?

I ask because the guilty take the truth to be hard and consider it "negative" because being confronted by it becomes associated with negative emotions.

I guess I've always had a hard time with when people tout "positivity" and decry "negativity", because I never know what they mean. It's often so personal a definition...

Some of us are doing that already.

Last year when some people were praying for vaccines, I said in an online talk that people should be praying for God to improve this situation. I used neutral language, but reminded people that a jab* would not solve all the problems caused by lockdown e.g. economic.

This is wisdom. If you pray and ask for a specific solution, you may get that solution but miss out on a better solution that the Lord would have provided if you had used neutral language

Thanks, I'm not that wise LOL. I think after "three weeks to stop the spread" turned into months that I realised there would be a lot of economic trouble caused by it. Not to mention health trouble - and I had several health issues as a result of it, including a dental abscess i couldn't get properly treated... I know many people who have been scarred by the experience. One of my friends confided in me she struggles with socialising again.

Fasting and prayer is good, but I don't think it's enough anymore. What's called for is repentance. Actually repenting.
People on this forum have asked, "What should I repent for?" I've also asked that of God.
Perhaps we start with our perverse form of idolatry.

I don't think we generally understand just how wicked our membership has become. It doesn't even really pale in comparison to the wickedness of the world in general anymore. We're just like them. We fill our time with filthy movies, filthy music, immodest images, immodest thoughts, and immodest deeds. Our homes are filled with graven images, both literal and figurative. We participate with babylon in just about all her pleasures, either directly or through vicarious intermediaries (like movies). Many of our mothers teach their daughters to be immodest, to flaunt their bodies for attention, and to paint their eyes like sexual-attention-seeking sluts, etc. Our fathers...who knows what our fathers are doing. I don't. Maybe they're too busy looking at porn to pay quality attention to their kids. Maybe they're too busy absorbed in earning enough money. We failed to build "parallel" non-babylon entities, and we treat those who try like they're blinking nuts. Those who have succeeded only succeeded because they filled it with babylon. Our money, representative of our time, goes to all the pleasures of babylon, and then some. We talk like there's just no getting away from it. "Boys will be boys, girls will be girls," which is like saying, "We've broken the covenant and no longer want to be sons and daughters of God."

Maybe Bruce Gilbert would consider this a negative rant, I don't know, but it's the truth. I'll join in a fast, that's for sure, but only if it's in connection with repentance, because God has tenderized my heart to the truth that so many of us fast and pray with blood on our hands, having not repented, and earning the unwanted response of God's closed ears, closed to our cries for help.

I'm tired of the evil too, but I'm less tired of the evil coming from government than I am of the evil going on in the lives and homes of latter-day saints. I'm tired of the refuge being a snare. I'm tired of bishops and stake presidents teaching false doctrine. I'm tired of priesthood holders failing to stand firm in their households, and letting their female counterparts walk all over them in their leadership role. I'm tired of porn being used by members of the church. I'm tired of the immodesty EVERYWHERE in Utah. I'm tired of our church being a bunch of hypocrites as we cry out agains the evil of tyranny while being oblivious to the idolatry going on in our own lives.

This is getting long.

Here's an idea. What if instead of a fast from food, we call for a fast from idolatry. We challenge the forum to go through their house and get rid of EVERYTHING that offends God. All graven images, regardless of whether we kneel before them or just hang them on the wall; all movies with immodesty and nudity and gratuitous violence, etc.; all the immodest clothing in our closets; all the immodest clothing in our children's closets; all that Isaiah warned about in Isaiah 3; and then we replace all this with new lives, new habits, new traditions, and new faith? My family has been doing this for 2 years now, and we keep finding stuff to change in our lives. We destroyed all our graven images after the instruction in God's commandment, and we gave away a bunch of our excess to the poor. We deleted videos, altered clothing, threw out clothing, and more. It was a great cleansing. Not because we're special and better, but because we had a problem and needed to feel clean before the Lord. When the judgment comes, let's be those who can say there is no idol in our households or in our loyalties.

Thoughts are consistently about one of several things: 1. Self, 2. Others, 3. Things or 4. Ideas. I think that negative speaking falls within the realm of "OTHERS," primarily. We can express and identify what is wrong with THINGS and IDEAS without targeting individuals.

Judgment is meant for identification and NOT condemnation. It is in the realm of "go thy way and sin no more" and "I condemn you not."
Ephesians 6:
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
I hope that my "personal definition" conveys understanding and, above all else, PEACE. I mean no harm.

Thanks!

Judgment.
It sounds like the difference between these two statements:
1. You're a monster and I hope you burn in hell.
2. You've done a terrible thing and I hope you repent and are saved. I have need of the atonement, too.

I’m tired of these things to. I’m tired of false doctrine at church. I can’t stomach going anymore, it makes me upset. Our local leaders act like they know it all because of their positions and their lawyer jobs. Even leaders who I think are down to earth are caught up in the game. They disagree but won’t stand up and they wear the mask even though they don’t want to. Because the stake Presidency said leaders should wear masks.
A missionary gave a talk a few weeks ago and said, “when we follow the prophet we are blessed. Even if he tells us to do things we don’t want to, we should follow him. If we have an injury or a poor outcome we will still blessed for following him.”
My best friend who is a conservative ran out and got the shot the day the prophet sent the letter. She said even if she is injured or dies at least she followed the prophet and the Lord will bless her.
I can’t listen to the lies. I can’t support the falsehoods, Marxism and loss of freedom never being discussed. They pretend all is well. It is not. When things go back to normal, they say. Well it’s been 2 years to flatten the curve. Do you honestly think we are ever going back?! It was supposed to be 2 weeks!

Ah yes, the false God called "normal". Why they would want normal back in the first place is beyond me. That alone indicates a problem. It seems to me we shouldn't want our normal any more than we'd want rabies or to be in prison.

"Getting back to “normal” would be ominous. It may be our last chance to repent as a nation, and that most definitely has not happened. At some point, normal becomes the last inhale before the left arm falls upon the people, crushing them."

I totally know what you mean... I have seen a fantastic bishop and high councilman released because they...refused to play the game and wear a mask. I know of a ward member in great health who droped dead shortly after the jab. Two weeks ago our elders quorum instructor went off on the ex-high councilman...and said "don't you know 90% of the people at the hospital are the unvaxed, suck it up and get the shot"

They think the secret combinations in Ether 8...are the mafia...They make small talk about which brand of clot-shot they got...

I feel like I am on a different planet, I watch the movie "The Matrix" regularly now. If I hear "safe and effective", "good global citizen" or how great UNICEF is in conference again...I'M TURNING IT OFF.

I am lucky to have a few like minded friends at church...but other than that...I feel homeless.
