Time to repent

17 O repent ye, repent ye! Why will ye die? Turn ye, turn ye unto the Lord your God. Why has he forsaken you?
Tonight I am feeling like we are on a threshold of something.
We have limped along with Covid and many of us have accepted the new world as a reality. In the past two days I have been reminded it can get worse.
I don't know where covid came from, or what they hoped to do with it. I don't know if omicron is real or if it just the next step in an evil plot.
I do know that most the people i know are surviving not thriving, and too many of them just barely. I know neighbors and families are divided. People are worn out spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. Im not sure we can survive another lockdown and global panick. Trust is gone, peace is fleeing.
We need God's help now. We need salvation. We need repentance.
Why wait for a global proclamation from those in charge? We can do this, we must do this. This is serious stakes, life or death for generations. We can repent now, tonight. And we can invite others to join us, and start something and talk about it and focus on it.
Or we can quietly whimper into dust and be swept from history.

He is the only power that can save us. I just got done watching a scene from an 80s family movie that reflected on American symbolism as pure, inspirational and something everyone can get behind for unity. That would never be in a movie today or resonate with Americans today. The world, particularly the United States, it has completely changed in the past few decades. Its a different world. How did this happen? How many civilizations have come and gone on these special North America lands?
The promises and the warnings of the Book of Mormon are clear. May God save and deliver us

Around November of 2019 I remember talking with my brother and a friend about how something changed. None of us could place it exactly just that things changed. We all felt it. My friend while not lds had seen the lord preserving him over the years very literally from poisons and from the sea and various other things. He has been shown some of the destruction to come. He has been watching for this for years, as have my brother and I. My dad always talked about this time
It seems the line of demarcation between earth and hell moved in their favor at that time. We were sure it was war. They were mobilizing and had pretty much started a war with iran. I don’t know if there’s a nephi out there (the one mighty and strong? The davidic servant? Whoever?). tired of war or what but that vanished as quick as it started. Then covid hit. It has upended nearly the entire world even though we’ve been watching for this for decades, it is surreal to see it come to pass.
I have a similar feeling to that of two years ago now also. We just stepped up a level. Something is coming. I think it will even get us here in mid mo this time. We never shut down here. No masks (except tourists and Walmart employees), no crt, no riots, only minor inconvenience due to the shipping and manufacturing stupidity. While covid is bad if you get really sick with it (and I believe hospital protocols make it worse) it hasn’t really affected the vast majority of the people illness wise, I’m not counting the stupid they’ve imposed on us. Round 2 will be real. I don’t know if it’s this omnicron or small pox or that hemorrhagic fever they were threatening maybe the vax and it’s effects? But it will not be as easy to beat.
I think sincere and humble repentance is essential NOW! My personal feeling is the spirit has withdrawn. The people, especially the rising generation are without natural affection. There are righteous individuals of course but the masses are past feeling. The time For our nations to repent has passed. The time for the righteous and the less wicked to repent is just about up. After this round I expect one more chance to repent and most will boast in their own strength and deny god. We will follow the same path as the Book of Mormon peoples and ancient israel. This is probably the time to start preaching it. Repent. Hear the lord’s voice and do what he says. Be that leave, stay and idly watch, boldly preach or whatever else he says. Whatever it is, time is up to be indecisive. Do it now.

I had that too. I put it down to personal mental health issues, but I now think it was a premonition. I had dreams of this as well.

The servant will come eventually to lead, correct, subdue enemies, lift and strengthen the righteous. He is the angel who ascends from the east. This podcast and chapter 41 of Isaiah is a great tool.

I'm in.
What does repentance entail?
Of course there are obvious sins or mistakes, but there are also subconscious (in the dark) sins that may be hurting us &/or others. Nobody can tell another what these are - we each need to search our souls & seek God.

I'm wondering what you thing we (I) need to repent of? Scriptures talk of two classes of righteousness, individual and societal. The calamities are due to societal evil. Sure, individuals contribute to it. There are 8B or so, and a few less on LDS FF.
BTW I agree with repenting, to see what we can do, and help our friends, family and neighbors. But, do you really think we can affect the world at large?
When god came down to Israel, only occasionally did he send messengers to the people, almost every account was to the king and the king's aristocracy. He accounted those in charge with managing societal righteousness. Only in the case of Lehi and Mulek do we have an account of individuals escaping societal doom from the Lord (maybe Jared counts as well but there is no mention of prophecying to masses).
I'm trying to do all I can to get instructions and guidance from the Lord. that included repentance, but not in any way do I think I can affect the world. I'm even struggling with getting minor inputs to my local county, let alone my state, for federal government or NWO leaders.

You are absolutely spot on the mark here, Bbrown. At exactly the same time I was having the exact same feeling. My home state of Queensland passed evil legislation to legalise full term abortion and the next month we had historical bushfires. But there was something more coming, I felt. I thought that maybe America would finally break out into open civil war, or something of that nature. With hindsight, I can see what has happened and, yes, it is high time to repent. The Enemy is almost openly revealed.

Thinker has asked (above on his thread):
"What does repentance entail?
"Of course there are obvious sins or mistakes, but there are also subconscious (in the dark) sins that may be hurting us &/or others. Nobody can tell another what these are - we each need to search our souls & seek God."
I believe that repentance also includes seeking to know and obey all of God's commandments. And "all of God's commandments" includes things that we have been commanded to do in holy scriptures, and things we have been told by prophets and apostles, especially in official Church statements like general conferences, "Messages of the First Presidency", and in Church publications, that we "should" do and "must" do. For examples, consider the commandment given us in Ether 8:24, and the things that President Benson and, more recently, President Oaks told us we "must" and "should" do Re. the U.S. Constitution. And I believe family history and temple work are among those things that we "should" do and "must" do.

need to humble ourselves. . .give up anything worldly and expect to have it taken anyway, but if you give it up now then, when it is all gone you will not be resentful. I'm not saying to get poor, but be prepared to get poor.
Learn to love and worship the GIVER of the gifts you have rather than the gifts themselves.
Determine what you will do when the war begins. Pray now for God's guidance then prepare ahead so that it doesn't surprise you.
Prepare to see most of your family and friends die, or all of them die and prepare yourself to not be resentful so that when it happens you are not taken by surprise.
Prepare for yourself to die and meet the savior. He will need you on this side or the other. The battle is still being fought there as well and Alma claims that we take our same personality with us and so there will be no time to prepare yourself after you die to help our Lord. Repent now for what you cannot see on the other side.
Study the writing of those who have been taken captive (in the scriptures). Take note of all the different ways that the captives responded. Then, determine how you will react when it happens to you or those of your household or friends. You will not resent it if you are prepared mentally ahead.
Prepare yourself to worship in any place you are at when the churches are closed and the Temples are plundered so that you are not feeling cheated when they are gone.
determine how you will fight the war against evil when it gains power through wicked people and those people love violence. Determine to protect all of the vulnerable around you and think about the things you can do to actually slap down evil. I'm not sure that casting out spirits is going to gain a lot, maybe a little. But those who are innocent need your help, those who understand how to face down evil, so they can escape. Many will escape by your help.
Always pray for your eyes to be open regarding news, government, world hoax organization, FBI, and all others that would lie to gain advantage. Then, be willing to accept the things that are revealed to you regardless of how difficult it is to see our brothers against us in sin.
Be grateful to the Lord that you are in the days that the prophets and righteous have looked forward to.
Keep yourself physically strong or get physically strong for the physical demands of building cities and physically gathering the House of Israel. You might want to lose some weight. Poor physical health will slow you down in these days. Live the WofW strictly and quit messing around. Then, pray to be translated or you won't be able to make it.
Protect your heart and keep your thoughts in the right place. Keep control of your passions strictly.
Prepare to work immediately, when the time comes with other people that you may not think you like. Satan will do his best to divide those 144,000 and those who help them to gather. Be prepared to be asked to do unusual things. Love your fellowman and keep reminding yourself that some things have to be done by a group that are one in their purpose. In the prayer circle in the temple then the person who even has "unkind thoughts" is asked to leave. Not the one you dislike, but you. . .if you have unkind thoughts. . . .are asked to leave. Forgive everyone everywhere all the time.
Have confidence in the Lord. Practice now having that confidence.
You have to ask yourself. . . if everything changes as we know it now. . .how will I respond . . how do I expect my household to respond. . .like Lehi going into the desert, everything changed . . like Bro of Jared and family, everything changed. . .Like Moses, Lot, Abraham, Daniel, Isaiah, etc. . . like our fathers changed when they had to fight a war in what seemed like a peaceful world, . . .
I'm not sure people are repenting, they just want to have "normal" back. However there are lights all around the world in good people that can see the truth. . .be confident that the Lord will gather them with our help and you will see others as the same mind as you. . .in the end. . . you will say. . .did we not tell you that our God will save us. . .don't fear reproach

Isaiah agrees.
From Isaiah 26
4 Ever trust in Jehovah,
for Jehovah, Yah, is an everlasting Rock.
5 He has put down the elite inhabitants
of the exalted city
by casting it to the ground,
laying it even with the dust.
6
It is trodden underfoot by the feet of the poor,
by the footsteps of those impoverished.
7 The path of the righteous is straight;
you pave an undeviating course for the upright.
Prepare for the circumstances to make a lot of people poor, especially during the transition period from before the Assyrian strikes to when Zion is redeemed and a Zion people take up residence in the holy refuge.

afterthought: don't fear reproach from your fellowman. . .the gads are trying to pit us and I'm not talking about LGBTQ. . .they are a distraction. . .the real reproachers are sometimes on this forum telling us that other COJCLDS are better than me or you. Really??? I've been in probably 16 wards in the last 10 years. . . . they are not all the same. . .the church is NOT the same everywhere. . trust your self. . . don't fear reproach

I am not living, I am waiting to die. At least when that comes I'll be free of all this, unless the afterlife is worse.
I'd rather it not if it's anything like this lol

I think Isaiah describes our situation and how to escape it. The sad part is that if we begin to understand Isaiah we also understand that these events will take place and that we will not repent as a people. The Book of Mormon reemphasizes this message with the story of the Nephites. As others have stated in this thread, we will need to repent as individuals. In chapter 1, Isaiah describes the problem and the solution.
16. Wash yourselves clean:
remove your wicked deeds
from before my eyes;
cease to do evil.
17. Learn to do good: demand justice,
stand up for the oppressed;
plead the cause of the fatherless,
appeal on behalf of the widow.
18. Come now, let us put it to the test,
says Jehovah:
though your sins are as scarlet,
they can be made white as snow;
though they have reddened as crimson,
they may become white as wool.
19. If you are willing and obey,
you shall eat the good of the land.
20. But if you are unwilling and disobey,
you shall be eaten by the sword.
By his mouth Jehovah has spoken it.

I believe we’re ending a period of grace that will end early next year. So, consequences will come greater and effects of modern science will no longer be held back. More adverse reactions will come and even other plagues in the future. Scourges are not over and war is coming. I said earlier that war would be next year. Not sure about that now, but it is coming.
We all need to work out our sin. I know I am. And if you don’t feel the need, borrow someone else’s.
