Today's pot is not yesterday's. It's lethal, figuratively and literally. THC levels are now 10 times the concentration of what they were in the 1970s. Young people in particular are suffering from psychotic breaks and high levels of paranoia and they are too often killing themselves. Dabs are high-THC marijuana concentrates that can be deadly, as those who ingest them become delusional and commit self-harm. Check out Laura Stack's book.

I was hearing about people having issues with it thirty years ago.

Hi dosages of THC often lead to rather unpleasant experiences and all entheogens should be used by adults only. People who have had bad experiences with THC usually never repeat their experiments with high dosages. This is the voice of experience speaking. THC is not lethal nor is it harmful physically; eating too many Big Macs will kill you eventually but not cannabis.

The argument that cannabis is harmful just brings about a discussion of what-aboutism and leads nowhere. People are not dying of cannabis use just like people are not dying of covid. I'm 65 years old and began using cannabis at the age of about 50. I have not had any psychotic episodes nor have the dozens of people who I know use cannabis.

Cannabis has been legal in Canada for a few years now and the sky has yet to fall. I have yet to read a single story of any Canadian dying because of cannabis use. The cannabis dispensaries are staffed with knowledgeable people who will steer new users in the right direction.

Like I said before, it's a plant, period. If it makes you feel unpleasant, then don't use it.

Tell that to Laura Stack, an expert on cannabis.
. . . the conversation of only three days [earlier] flashed into my mind. Looking back, Johnny had warned us over dinner. “Mom, I just want you to know you were right. You were right all along. You told me marijuana would hurt my brain. Marijuana has ruined my mind and my life. I’m sorry, and I love you.”
19-year-old Johnny was dead three days after saying this, having killed himself. It was a few years from the time that he began his cannabis use.
Also,
Johnny became just one of the 80 youths in Colorado ages 15-19 who died by suicide in 2019. . . . 36% of youth who died by suicide were positive for THC in 2018, the last year data is available.

Nicotine comes from a plant, too. So it's no problem at all, right?!~

How does having an MBA and being a motivational speaker make one an “expert” on marijuana?

Sorry Charlie, no one has died from using pot…..now we can make statements that it may have contributed to people doing stupid stuff……
But there also could have been many other contributing factors to this young man’s demise, marijuana was guaranteed not to be this kids only issue…..

I think I've stated already that only adults should use mind altering substances and to suggest that cannabis was the cause of these suicides is quite a leap. Good luck proving causation.

Actually, it's not a problem. The problem is with tobacco companies who add chemicals to the tobacco that makes it much easier for the body to absorb nicotine thus greatly increasing the potential for addiction. If tobacco was left unaltered, people would not be smoking this stuff.

The point made about tobacco companies enhancing nicotine absorption is quite similar to the point about marijuana plants now being much much higher in THC than before, because they've been modified to be more potent. The flower can be over 40% THC. So they're narcotic-strength now.

Expertise can be obtained by learning and writing about hundreds of relevant details over several years.

You are correct about rising THC levels but that only means that I'll be using less to achieve the desired effect. I've tried the extracts such as shatter and vape pens and I advise against them; too many chemicals. As for expertise, unless Ms. Stark has used the product, she is not an expert.

Dr. Andrew Weil wrote a book years ago that has become a classic for those who know nothing about drugs, "From Chocolate to Morphine." I purchased it years ago when I was raising teenagers and it is still sitting on my bookshelf. I consider him an expert and highly recommend the book.

If you want straight answers about its effects then feel free to drop me a line.

Just found out my daughter's roommate up at a church school was told by her Bishop that she can get a temple recommend and continue to drink coffee because she "needs it to do her homework". My husband's grandparents both drank it, told their Bishop and he approved too. Sorry to go a bit off-topic.

I'm not a fan of the idea that Marijuana is banned "cos racism"... I don't think that is true, but I do think its late arrival in western culture was a historical factor against it. Hemp was certainly well known in mediaeval Europe, and alcohol has also been part of European culture for thousands of years, but cannabis smoking is a much more recent arrival.

Tobacco smoking first became known to Europeans in the 1500s, although it was considered a bizarre native American habit. Roll on a century or two and it had gained wider acceptance in Europe. It was also a way for American colonies to pay their way and pay for their own expansion and development rather than depending on hand outs from England, Spain etc. So tobacco became entrenched too. (There is some weird evidence of Egyptian mummies and tobacco, but that's another matter.)

Smoking became entrenched in Europe, although tobacco tended to be chewed as well, and it took longer for people to smoke canmabis.

The likes of opium (later heroin), cocaine and so on arrived much much later than either of these. The anti-opium movement did have a racist tinge to it, often being anti-Chinese (although it was Britain which flooded China with opium not the other way round.) I think cannabis has had an association with black culture, from jazz to rastas, but I just don't think cannabis ever managed to root itself in Europe in the same way until at least the 1960s and 70s. Europe was happy to pay for tobacco, cotton, coffee and sugar from American colonies but not recreational cannabis, which was seen as more useful in making cloth and paper.

Another factor is that many people could smoke tobacco while working, whereas with cannabis it can take away your will to work. You could certainly smoke tobacco if you were working on a fishing boat or on a market stall.

No idea about MK Ultra, but my personal experience is that political activists who take the stuff tend to yap on a lot and do very little. So in that sense it helps the status quo.

I did know someone who said to me that it helped her see the world as it is. On the few occasions I tried it, it never did anything like that to me. But then again, I'm not MK Ultra'd... as far as I know!!!

Cathy O'Brien testified to this rule that when she was being trafficked, working as a high level prostitute and courier and under complete control thru MK Ultra handlers, she was allowed any drug except cannabis for this very reason.

It is also my experience, tho I have distanced myself from the drug, that previously implanted programming falls away when medicated.

Have you found it to be a successful tool in seeking the Lord? Has it allowed the scriptures to be opened up to you in any way?
