I'm not so convinced. I watched almost all of the Zimmerman and Rittenhouse trials. I thought it was very educational. I got to see for myself what the evidence being presented was, and so when the verdicts were handed down, I was not surprised. The Rodney King trial, though, when the defendents were acquitted, did not make sense to me. I had to take someone else's word for it that it was or was not a fair trial.

Of course, even when the entire thing is freely available for all to see, the ignorant and the liars are still not going to do anything different. But at least it makes it easier to spot them.

Nope, none at all, hence all the court sketches. The law is slightly different here. I actually like it since they've shown a couple of court cases on TV after they've happened, but you don't get an American style feeding frenzy.

The couple of court cases I've seen have been not too bad. The police in them are often as thick as mince (that's real life for you, unlike police procedurals), but the lawyers didn't really grandstand.

The two trials I've seen are the Arlene Fraser trial (which is only one or two removes from me - I knew people who knew some of the people in it)
