The Golden Vaca

I thought the image at the bottom of this post, that a cartoonist created in response for the historical attempt to vaccinate against smallpox, to be interesting because of the framed picture in the background of the Israelites worshipping the golden calf. I guess I hadn’t realized there had been a connection made long ago between vaccination and idolatry.

What’s more is the connection between the origin of the word “vaccine” (vaca = cow in the Latin languages) and the bovinity of the golden calf.

I’m a big fan of John of Theology Ed and he just did a vid about some predictive programming in both the Simpsons and one of the Kingsman films that circulate around this theme loosely but in a way that makes some great connections with how the dark side, itself, is touting the series of vaccines as the mark of the beast.
