If everyone would take personal responsibility for feeding their own family by living in rural areas where sufficient land to grow ones own food is a mere fraction of the cost of living in the city, they would be self sufficient as well as saving hundreds of thousands of dollars on housing. Only when people expect someone else to feed them is there hunger. That is the story of the prodigal son. Leave the farm and starve or come back. City jobs can be ok if the government was 90% smaller and did not want you to get a shot or be fired. The government can not pull that crap on a small farmer. There is a total of 4.62 billion acres of cropland on planet Earth. But there are 126 billion acres of land on earth. So there is easily a ten acre package for every living human on earth. Some will use green houses where the land is on nasty climate. Which means there is no over population and also no shortage of land.
Everybody can raise food. Most choose not to. Some food can be harvested from the ocean and requires no land at all. God did not make a mistake in calculating how many people the earth could support.
Only when someone introduces socialism do things begin to fail. Since socialism is of the devil, it follows that the entire problem is the result of not following God. In fact, the Sermon on the Mount, says exactly that.
Once we realize that every problem that exists, does so because of socialists, democrats, communists, Marxists, etc., the solution has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with spending money.
....world hunger could be solved entirely by using only the interest on the church’s investments.

I don't know if I entirely agree with that for various reasons. Here's why:
* Some people do not have the time or space to grow food. This is because they work long hours, ir simply don't have the space or resources at home to grow much at all.
* Millions have their food destroyed or eaten by pests, natural disasters and so on. Drought is a very common one. Locusts are another - there was a severe problem with them in Africa last year, thanks partly to lockdown which would have increased their numbers.
* Some people can't due to disability or old age.
Land and sea are good resources if managed properly. They can both be wrecked if mismanaged and that has happened in some places where you can see the issues with one's own eyes.
There are certain technologies which could do with more promotion and development. Hydroponics. Better water treatment/desalination. Solar ovens (these only really work in or near the tropics. Sensible planting, e.g. the Mayans used to plant certain crops together because they would help each other. Oceanic farming (which is still in its infancy)
But the last thing we need is evil people like Bill Gates or the WEF controlling our agriculture. In one of the Omen films, the Antichrist starts controlling the global food supply. Which is probably what he will do.

It is a lot easier when it is a generational thing. If the city job pays sufficient to purchase the food for storage, that certainly helps. Even with bad years or failed crops, there is generally far more that just a single year supply of some things and so overall it works out.Niemand wrote: ↑November 16th, 2021, 3:07 amI don't know if I entirely agree with that for various reasons. Land is cheap enough in some places that even a minimal job can be enough if you have your own food. I know a guy that only has a quarter acre and he makes an extra $10k a year just selling German Shephard pups. Even young children can do that. Its hard to imagine why any able bodied person can not feed themselves. Especially in todays socialist society.

Most people don't even own their own homes... or rent them. A good proportion of the world's population is living illegally in tin and wood shacks they built themselves - shantytowns, favelas, townships, whatever they're called locally. Millions of people in fact.Fred wrote: ↑November 16th, 2021, 3:28 am]

In some places it is not possible to get land cheaply. It is overpriced for what it is round here. A lot of it goes to waste. I can grow some stuff in my place, but not really enough to support myself entirely all year round. The USA has the luxury of space, but many countries don't. Even so a good proportion of American land is trash - humans have a knack of building on farmland unfortunately... so what was once some of the best agricultural land in America must be sitting right under the east coast's sprawling cities... whereas there are big wide open wastelands in western tracts of the States which barely anyone could live off, because it's too dry, infertile, mountainous/hilly etc.
I put it down to infrastructure, which is something that often needs to be built by or for large groups of people, lack of storage, price fixing, and mismanagement. Infrastructure can be essential for irrigation/drinking etc.

driving back from a Stake Conf 1 Sunday, after i'd been listening/reading Isaiah commentary by A. Gileadi all week prior.....it hit me, that this whole World was perverted from it's original intent......Moses 5:1......"and to eat his bread by the sweat of his brow. And Eve, also his wife, did labor with him"......
the majority of the World is just delusion, working 9-5 in some building is a perverted construct.......much of the business world today is just unneeded churn......Adam, Eve & their family was the template

Nah, not even close.
It could feed people, but it would never solve the problem.
Well, it could feed some people; the rest would end up in the possession of cartels, warlords, governments, and others.
Solve these problems first:
Get rid of communism.
Get rid of tyrants.
Get rid of incompetent government officials.
Get rid of lazy people, entitled people, etc.
and much more.
That would be a very good start, though.
