Question on starting a new page for honest contemplation and discussions

Post by TheDuke »

I would like to see if there are people. Maybe if so, we should have a pole, where we have a page or section or something devoted to honest open frank, but polite discussions about topics (gospel or others). I bring this up as I would say that we need a safe place for FF members to speak their peace and not get harassed. A place for honest discussions and disagreements but where there is none of the following:
1. Attacking a person vs. their statements.
2. Limited condescending remarks or snipping.
3. No hate languages (you're evil, you must be following Satan, every government employee is evil, anyone with a mask or that has been vaxed is evil and satanic, disagreeing with peoples means their into SRA, etc...) where unfounded claims of seriously bad actions and even INTENT has been assumed).
4. Scriptures are expounded upon, not just pasted in.
5. Predominant beliefs are that LDS is of the Lord (at least the BoM, PoGP and D&C) but need to be expanded and clarified.
6. That LDS church may be imperfect and wrong at times but isn't Satanic, or Evil, or intentionally as a body being led to hell.

Etc...

Maybe some more rules.

I truly appreciate LDS FF and being able to chat here. But, frankly, I feel there has been an accelerated rate of decay on many threads where it ramps up to Hate Language right away. At least I see spending a lot of time trying to make a "middle of the road" statement (like while I disagree with vaxes, many that get it are doing for their right reasons), only to be hit with the evils and Satanic issues. I.e. (my wife was vaxed, I got sick and was told I needed to leave her and get away as she was no evil).

Anyway if there is some interest maybe we could write a bit of a charter and do something there and let the haters rule the rest as they desire.

BTW I will not be around much for a while, so if I am to do something as an action, it will be closer to December.

This would be great, but I don't think most of the people on this forum would be interested in this. It seems the majority here just want to attack the church and then go after anyone who defends it.

Or maybe that's just my perception and it's just a few bad apples ruining the whole bunch.

I'm thinking there are many people, mostly lurkers that read posts that are not so derailing and only a few people the regularly want to get to hate topics, and even most of those people, can and do at times back off from the adrenaline and communicate. I have in fact, learned things from almost everyone on the forum, even those I disagreed with the most.

I just think some of the current events lead people to feel too alone and feel no one else understand and they lash out. but, maybe it there was a tempered path they could feel comfortable as well............. Just my hopes?

Many here recognize the future role of the end times servant. :P

How about this. Instead of a new forum section how about those who tend to just argue, fight and denigrate others just get ignored. I have to admit that I am one of the contentious ones. I can change my ways. I need to become more open minded. So if someone comes along and posts hateful and dark posts then others should just ignore the post. If someone comes along and just wants to argue and is full of hate then ignore them.
