* They are preparing for a temple marriage "revelation" sooner rather than later, and this is the attempt to get everybody onboard before they drop the bomb.

But don't worry, I was just assured recently by several leaders in positions of power that the Church will NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER allow homosexuals to "marry" or to at least be "sealed".

Yeah, your actions speak louder than your words guys.

It is coming.

With their current stance, there is no longer any rational or theological basis for not allowing it.

They are currently teach that there is nothing wrong with homosexuality itself, but the Lord will not currently allow marriage or sealings of same sex couples. Since they cannot be married, they are committing fornication in the same way an unmarried hetero couple would. It is only sinful because the Lord won't allow them to form a union, but there is nothing wrong with the act itself.

This is an untenable position. And when the policies inevitably change and same sex marriage is allowed, these folks will be treated as long-suffering heroes and true examples of Christian patience.

I hope I'm wrong, but I really can't see any other way this plays out.

Here's my story. 19 years old. Bashed a gay man's head in with a piece of rebar. He spent nearly three weeks in the hospital. I went to the state prison for a little bit as did my cohorts. This "evil," gay man showed up at my trial. Said he forgave me and didn't think I needed to go to prison since I was "just a kid." He was in his mid 40s and he occasionally put money on my books. He kept in touch with each of us and I actually invited him to my wedding three years after getting out. He didn't judge me and he forgave me for what we did to him and his friend. Fast forward to my early 40s. I had done my short time and eventually joined the military. Did 20 years and retired. Even got a commission. Now I'm not sure, I think it was my daughter who let it out to someone in the ward that I had served time in prison. I was immediately relieved of my EQ calling. The bishops secretary asked me to speak in church then said "wait, there's a reason you can't talk." and walked away. I have never been under church discipline yet my "past," somehow makes me "undesirable," and unclean among the pure little Mormons who have never signed. Now I don't understand homosexuality but I can tell you that one man, who had every reason to hate me and despise me showed me and my friends more Christlike kindness and forgiveness than an LDS member ever did. He wasn't evil and diseased. I was the evil and diseased one. Diseased by my blind hatred of people I never really knew. I have come to learn that LDS people are no better than those that they judge. You judge those who you hate and yet fail to recognize your own hatreds. One day you will meet the Savior and you will be embarrassed at the blackness and sick nature of your own hearts. You are not Christ's disciples. You who condemn those you have never met are wrong.

That is Christlike indeed. I'm glad you've been blessed by gracious people, and I'm sorry the LDS members have treated you so. Clearly there are severe cultural/policy issues among the membership.

Here is a question: Do you think that the act of the LDS leadership changing the law of chastity and the doctrine of eternal marriage would:
1) Make the LDS more forgiving/gracious/Christlike?
2) Make the LDS less forgiving/gracious/Christlike?
3) Have no effect on the level of forgiving/gracious/Christlike?

I am of the opinion that going down the woke path will result in option #2. The woke ideology is cult-like in nature and offers no redemption except through ascending through intersectional hierarchies.

Curious to get your thoughts.

So answer me this. You, if your a man have never, ever, ever once in your life have had an impure thought about a woman who wasn't your wife? When you were a teen you never had impure thoughts about that cute girl at school. Or if you were a girl had an impure thought about that cute kid on the baseball team? You have never as an adult had the smallest thought about that pretty woman you met at work? If you have never done that then good heavens you should have been translated a long time ago. How is sexual immorality among a man and a woman any different than that among a man and a man or woman and a woman? Sin is sin. Sorry but if I were the Savior and two men stood before me and only one could get into heaven and you stood there beside David, the man I could have killed, I would look upon your hearts. Yes he sinned but his heart was kind and forgiving of those who wronged him. He gave money to men who attacked him for doing nothing to them. He forgave and defended these same men in court. He didn't seek vengeance. And then there is you. Your heart is dark. Evil. Hypocritical. You cannot see the good in another child of God solely because of their sexuality. I am not telling you that you have to accept them. I am just saying that until you can stand in front of the Lord with a pure heart and a love for your fellow man then you are no better than anyone else. Despite of what you think.

You've got to explain a little bit more about this homosexual encounter; at this point I'm assuming you went looking for another man (or innocently got into a situation where he hit on you) and when you realized what he was about to do, you beat him up.

I highly doubt you went bar cruzing looking for one to beat up. Did this guy attempt to sexually abuse you and that's why you beat him up?

Nope. I lived a life that you would never understand. A lifestyle you couldn't handle for a week. You see, you can still barely see the swastika tattoo I have right between my shoulder blades that my cousin gave to me at age 16. I was full of misunderstanding and hate. Like you are now. No hate here anymore. I know the kind of person you are. One of those guys who sits and reads all day. My guess is that if we were in school together we would have teased you mercilessly until you told your dad. Your dad would have complained to the principal who would have suspended us. We would have shown up to your house one Saturday evening and when your dad came out to confront us "ruffians," we would have kicked the doors in on his minivan and there wasn't a thing he could have done about it. It's the people who are weak inside who have to attack and deride others in order to feel strong. Would I have attacked someone by myself? Nope. But when I had three or four other skins with me I felt invincible.
