He was obviously never taught anything from that mother. Worse, though is he is a repeat offender.... Obviously no attempt at correction between the separate event in separate schools.............................. He likes to wear skirts and go into girls bathrooms.... but that is ok. One day he may try this again and find the girl/woman in question gives him an unpleasant permanent reminder.

I know a few women you wouldn't want to tangle with. Not always the ones you think. I knew a petite woman some years ago who was pretty lethal with martial arts, although thankfully she never used it on me. (I think all women should study self-defence for these purposes, and many of the Asian techniques were designed for women... even the biggest men have weak spots. Maybe more difficult if there's more than one.)

Scriptures offer balanced justice/judgment:
“An Eye for an Eye”...
“One (admittedly horrible crime with one person as the victim) is not objectively equivalent to being a "menace to society." Also, rape =/= murder, so the punishment for the individual in question shouldn't be death.”
Probably... how about cutting off the offending organ, and attendant testosterone units...?
This would be fair, and also help the offending boy hasten his conversion into his preferred gender....

Did Mormon have a misguided notion of purity when he spoke of chastity being robbed?
9 And notwithstanding this great abomination of the Lamanites, it doth not exceed that of our people in Moriantum. For behold, many of the daughters of the Lamanites have they taken prisoners; and after depriving them of that which was most dear and precious above all things, which is chastity and virtue—

Yes. Remember, I don’t neccesarily hold the BOOK OF MORMON as being literally true. And even if I consistently did, Mormon was from a different time period with a fundamentally different outlook on life.ori wrote: ↑November 5th, 2021, 3:09 pmDid Mormon have a misguided notion of purity when he spoke of chastity being robbed?

There were a lot of adults that made choices here. I don't see anyone willing to take responsibility so I don't see why we should expect responsibility from the kids.
Kids don't grow up on an island all by themsleves.
We are quickly losing the ability to recognize how consequences are a result of actions. We are a very shame based society. So shame based that we will crucify our children before acknowledging that certain consequences that cause suffering to children are the result of adults choosing to uphold certain policies.

Ok. I agree with you that Mormon had a fundamentally different outlook on life. The way I like to think about these things is: how are we so sure that our outlook is more correct than his? What cause have we to think that we are more enlightened? I say we have no reason to believe that.Durzan wrote: ↑November 5th, 2021, 6:08 pmYes. I don't necessarily believe that Mormon -- or anyone else in particular -- is any less or more enlightened than us, or that we are of him. He was a product of his own time and understanding, and so are we. We should not underestimate the differences that may cause and should take their views with that context in mind. The notion that the people of the past are wiser than us is foolish, but so is the notion that we are wiser than them. In some ways they had more knowledge than us, but in other ways we probably have more knowledge than they did. We do not have the whole picture, so we should simply take what they say and learn from it.ori wrote: ↑November 6th, 2021, 8:27 amOk. The way I see it, there's a decent chance that any and all religion is 90% bunk and only 10% is based on truth. Does that make it worthless? No. But it does mean it should be taken with some degree of skeptism, but also love and charity.

If the Constitution was not written on used toilet paper, a student could carry a lethal force defense weapon. Satanists have shredded the Constitution so that well trained school age children in the custody of people that hate them, are not old enough to be legally considered worth defending. A girl should be able to carry a pistol in a crotch holster and all she has to do is point and shoot. No warning needed. Just Nope, not today!Jason wrote: ↑November 5th, 2021, 1:24 pma gun. best equalizer there is...in this temporal affair...Niemand wrote: ↑November 5th, 2021, 1:16 pmI know a few women you wouldn't want to tangle with. When I was a kid, a person was a sissy if they didn't have a gun by age 12. Stupid morons that think there would be needless killings are not bright enough to realize that if the Constitution would have been followed that every person would or should be considered packing. That is a serious deterrent.
There has NEVER ben a shooting at an NRA rally. Hunter Safety was taught in the LDS Church when I was a kid as part of scouting. Somewhere along the line, the church decided it would be far better to have needless deaths than to teach children how to safely use a firearm. I suppose it was necessary to protect the fags that they would be supporting later on. When you turn the boys into sissies, they play with dolls instead of guns. We played cowboys and Indians and shot each other with cap guns when I was 5. I can't even imagine a parent being so negligent and hateful as to not teach firearm use at an early age.
I think we are coming to a time when citizens will bypass the corrupt judicial system and perform sentencing themselves. Faster and cheaper.

I agree with this. Then if other violence is perpetrated, then "menace to sociey" punishment mentioned above ought to be put into play.JK4Woods wrote: ↑November 5th, 2021, 2:36 pm Scriptures offer balanced justice/judgment:

Death penalty (in a timely manner) should at least be on the table for such violent crimes. Is it always the right choice? No The possibility of it being actually enforced would deter at least some though. This case, as presented at least, would indicate the boy is an entitled punk. They are usually cowards and back down when faced with real consequences. (Im not victim blaming I’m referring to consequences after the fact). If there was a real and proper penalty to his crime, death, or a not gentle castration, he would think twice about actually doing such things. It would seem we are getting to the point where we can’t be governed by law, save it be to our destruction.

I think castration would be appropriate in this case. I've no problem with a painkiller for it. No, not just castration. Cut the whole thing off. Then, if he goes into a girl's restroom with a skirt on, at least he shouldn't be able to hurt anyone. (I hope)

Sadly rape is a crime of violence more so than sex Sex simply is the method the perpetrator employs. Should you remove the means that of his violent acts he will simply employ another equally distasteful one in its place.Silver Pie wrote: ↑November 7th, 2021, 12:40 am I think castration would be appropriate in this case. I do know that it is a crime of violence, not sex, but it never occurred to me that the person might do some other act of violence in its place.. *shudder*
I wonder, though, with the lower testosterone levels of being castrated, is it possible that the rapists might be less prone to violence? (Serious question for anyone with scientific interest or knowledge.)
