Re: The Long Slump
I wish our government would have just let it collapse. It has to go through a collapse so it can rebuild. I fear throwing a bucket of water on a burning house has done no good. The prolonging of the agony has deepened the wound to a point that I am afraid it will not heal until Christ heals it.

This is history repeating itself, back during the depression things wouldn't have gotten so bad and lasted as long as it did it wasn't for the government trying in vain to "solve" the problem. Read The forgotten man by Amity Shlaes. It is going to happen all over again.

Re: The Long Slump
Our 'government' doesn't care about fixing the economy for the people... the reason they are intervening (with the quazi-'Fed' leading the charge) has to do with bailing out and saving their business partners, political contributors and cohorts with taxpayer money, which is sucking the life-blood out of our money and making it worth less and less (theft through inflation) while piling up insane amounts of debt for us which were already unrepayable in the first place. Our economic and financial survival are being thrown to the dogs by what they are doing and I can't think of a bigger abomination than that.
