Former Australian pro-basketball player Ben Madgen (36) has been diagnosed with pericarditis (inflammation of the sac surrounding the heart) shortly after receiving his second dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

The Australian doctors who treated him apparently disagree with the CDC that this is a “rare” side effect, as they told him that pericarditis is now a common side effect of the Pfizer shot for young males.

Yūsuke Kinoshita (木下雄介, Kinoshita Yūsuke, 10 October 1993 – 3 August 2021) was a professional Japanese baseball player. He played pitcher for the Chunichi Dragons.

On 20 October 2016, Kinoshita was selected as the 1st round development draft pick for the Chunichi Dragons at the 2016 NPB Draft and on 9 November signed a provisional contract with a ¥2,000,000 sign-on bonus and a ¥3,000,000 yearly salary.[2]

On 23 March 2018, Kinoshita was upgraded to a fully rostered contract and was presented with the number 98.[3]

Kinoshita collapsed with a cardiopulmonary arrest[4] on 6 July 2021 during rehabilitation training on his right shoulder at Nagoya Stadium and was rushed to hospital where he was put on a ventilator. He died without regaining consciousness on 3 August 2021. There was some media speculation that his death was connected to having his first COVID vaccine eight days prior to his collapse, but no such causal link had been established.[5]

A sister in our ward, who most definitely has underlying health problems, developed hemiplegic migraine, a stroke like disorder which semi-paralysed half her body and left her unable to speak. She put it down to Covid.

Il Divo star Carlos Marin has died from COVID-19 at the age of 53.

The singer fell ill earlier this month and was subsequently put in a coma by doctors at Manchester Royal Hospital as he battled the virus.
