Yes, his initial reaction in a time of crisis was to violate the natural rights of Floridians.
I appreciate what he is doing now very much. He seems to understand, much like Trump, how to play the rigged media game and win. He also has more political connections than Trump which would help him when it came time to put a cabinet together and perhaps begin making a dent in the deep state (if he so desired). But his initial reaction was a problem and shouldn't be forgotten.
Kristi Noem I believe is the only governor who chose not to violate the rights of the citizens, and she was under a lot of pressure from other (R) governors to do what they were doing, but held firm. I think she had a lot do to with Desantis' shift.
