But prolly wasn’t properly protected like most major structures are; the prevalence of lightning in the area is a big factor too. What a bunch of morons, or bag of _ holes that erected it; whichever you prefer.

Old buildings like that with older brick construction have a habit of deteriorating over time and then you add a high force event like a lightning strike, which are common, then, of course, you're going to have some stuff fall down, especially if the building had no infrastructure for catching and grounding a lightning strike. I'm surprised the building didn't burn.

I don't understand why this is a newsworthy story? There are thousands of murals like this now all over the country, lightning strikes one in Ohio, and all of the sudden it's news?
