That goes without saying. But his 2ND vote for a Trump impeachment, a president who belongs to his own party, and executed AFTER DT had left office, is unprecedented in our entire history and is truly beyond the pale.lundbaek wrote: ↑May 1st, 2021, 4:35 pm Good grief! That's one of the really odd things about the man. He doesn't seem to have the slightest inkling why people are upset with him. For me, this is evidence for what is probably his very low empath quotient.
The man is a narcissist comparable to Trump, he just isn't as extroverted about it.
And Trump deserved it big time.larsenb wrote: ↑May 1st, 2021, 5:08 pmThat goes without saying. samizdat, impeachment is where the House brings charges against a sitting President (or other official). This amounts to an indictment. The Senate then hears the charges and votes to convict. The President is then removed from office.samizdat wrote: ↑May 1st, 2021, 7:49 pmAnd Trump deserved it big time.larsenb wrote: ↑May 1st, 2021, 5:08 pmThat goes without saying. Trump is one of the more personable people you could meet; as attested to by people who met him during his presidency, expecting the opposite, then were shocked to discover otherwise. Knowing next to nothing about the man, I watched him perform, give talks, conduct meetings, etc., etc., many, many times, and saw nothing very narcissistic about him. He has a strong ego, grantedOriginal_Intent wrote: ↑May 1st, 2021, 7:40 pmThe man is a narcissist comparable to Trump, he just isn't as extroverted about it.
Seeing him booed did my heart good.
There were many things for which Trump should have been impeached.larsenb wrote: ↑May 1st, 2021, 8:00 pmsamizdat, impeachment is where the House brings charges against a sitting President (or other official). How on earth does the Senate remove someone from office who has already left it? Makes no sense. Perhaps you can explain it for me . . . and while you're at it, explain why DT should have been subjected to this irrational process.

The quid pro quo incident in Ukraine. Pretty sure you are thinking about Biden.
His doubling down asking China for similar information to that which was referenced in Ukraine.See above.
Emoulements clause violations. Examples? I'm serious.
Inciting the riot on the Capitol building.Oh FFS, don't go full idiot.
Asking Georgia's SecState to cheat the results for him. OK you went full idiot. C'mon, he asked for a recount and pointed out that he only needed a few thousand votes. That wasn't a request to cheat, it was justification of the recount. I bet you watch CNN or maybe even Rachel MadCow on MSNBC
Problem with these assertions, is that there was no quid pro quo between Trump and the Ukraine. Ironically, there was definitely one between VP Biden during the previous administration (withholding 1.2 billion in foreign aide unless they removed the prosecutor going after Burisma at a time his son was working for them; you can see a video of Biden bragging to a CFR gathering about this, in which he uses the swear word: son of a b....)samizdat wrote: ↑May 1st, 2021, 8:15 pmThere were many things for which Trump should have been impeached.larsenb wrote: ↑May 1st, 2021, 8:00 pmsamizdat, impeachment is where the House brings charges against a sitting President (or other official). I remember the interview where he denied the foundation of his religion for political expediency. https://youtu.be/ZDt0Mqpd23ETheoden76 wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2021, 10:28 am All,
It is strange that Romney was a pretty good candidate in 2012 (far better than McCain). I say "pretty good", but I still felt he was not all that strong in his basic principles. He didn't pull them into his positions.
He was painted as a money grubber and he let them carry the narrative. It hurt him in many ways.
I don't know the whole story, but it seems like he has been a Trump distractor for some time. He calls Trump out on things I see as being his weaknesses too.
I don't see Trump as being very principled.
I am not sure Romney is either (in political and government matters....don't know about his faith).
I will look at the video sometime soon.Prana wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2021, 10:35 amI remember the interview where he denied the foundation of his religion for political expediency. https://youtu.be/ZDt0Mqpd23ETheoden76 wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2021, 10:28 am All,

Lol. Then get off controversial message boards on Sunday. I couldn’t care less if you trust me.Theoden76 wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2021, 10:39 amI will look at the video sometime soon.Prana wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2021, 10:35 amI remember the interview where he denied the foundation of his religion for political expediency. https://youtu.be/ZDt0Mqpd23ETheoden76 wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2021, 10:28 am All,

I prefer not to get caught up in controversy on Sunday.
However, I am hoping you have not applied a conclusion that is not supported. If this is your opinion, please state it as such. If you are saying this is for sure the case and I don't agree....then I lose trust in you or anyone else who does the same.
