1st Nephi 2:20
And inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall prosper, and shall be led to a land of promise; yea, even a land which I have prepared for you; yea, a land which is choice above all other lands.
What if this were shared with us today would it mean that our Land of Promise is here or the New Jeruselem? Are we not comanded to flee from Babylon?

The mountains of the Lord's house (temples) is where we are commanded to flee. We are to not look back. This is leaving babylon. Notice it say mountains (plural) which means temples, which have recently been increased in numbers across the earth.
11 Watch, therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour.
12 Let them, therefore, who are among the Gentiles flee unto Zion.
13 And let them who be of Judah flee unto Jerusalem, unto the mountains of the Lord’s house.
14 Go ye out from among the nations, even from Babylon, from the midst of wickedness, which is spiritual Babylon.
15 But verily, thus saith the Lord, let not your flight be in haste, but let all things be prepared before you; and he that goeth, let him not look back lest sudden destruction shall come upon him.
In simple terms this means,. go to the temple, enter into the covenants and do not break them. When you go to the temple do not make the covenants in haste, but prepare yourself wisely before you make them so you do not return to you former sins after you have made covenants in the temple.

I always understood the promised land to be the American continent with New Jerusalem as the capital of Zion. Of course, we know that this land must be cleansed first and Babylon must fall, so we're in for a bumpy ride. All civilizations that have inhabited this land were under covenant to be righteous and whenever that covenant was broken, that civilization fell. Because of that little word IF, all bets are off!

I really believe that many members have set aside the Idea that yes we are going to return to the New Jeruselem, This is Zion. The D&C is filled with promises on this.
Going back to
1Nephi 2:20 And inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall prosper, and shall be led to a bland of promise; yea, even a land which I have prepared for you; yea, a land which is choice above all other lands.
Like I said If this were brought forth by an Apostle what would it mean to us today? Would it mean the New Jeruselem? I believe it does.

In the words of Wilford Woodruff: ... The Prophet said, "Brethren, I have been very much edified and instructed in your testimonies here tonight, but I want to say to you before the Lord, that you know no more concerning the destinies of this Church and kingdom than a babe upon its mother's lap. You don't comprehend it." I was rather surprised. He said, "It is only a handful of Priesthood you see here tonight, but this Church will fill North and South America-it will fill the world." Among other tidings he said, "It will fill the Rocky Mountains. There will be tens of thousands of Latter-day Saints who will be gathered in the Rocky Mountains, and there they will open the door for the establishing of the gospel among the Lamanites, who will receive the gospel and their endowments and the blessings of God. This people will go unto the Rocky Mountains; they will there build temples to the Most High. They will raise up a posterity there, and the Latter-day Saints who dwell in these mountains will stand in the flesh until the coming of the Son of Man. The Son of Man will come to them while in the Rocky Mountains." . . . I never expected to see the Rocky Mountains when I listened to that man's voice, but I have, and do today. I will say here that I shall not live to see it, you may not live to see it; but these thousands of Latter-day Saint children that belong to the Sabbath schools, I believe many of them will stand in the flesh when the Lord Jesus Christ visits the Zion of God here in the mountains of Israel.
