Have heard this being discussed, and just wondering if it is true, or not?

I don't think it will be that obvious. I think they will just start having missionaries be called to their home countries instead of abroad. Be watching for the day when all the young men in your Ward are being called to serve in the same country you live in.

Now, that is perfectly logical... just like everything else in our dear church!!! Thanks!

I also don't think it will happen at once, first one country, then another, then another and so forth.

IMO we may see a focus shift in what the missionaries do. If they were teaching the gentiles before and the end of the fulness of times of gentiles occurs, the next mission is to take the gospel to the Jews (house of Israel). The Brethren may direct that the missionaries come home from the Gentile nations and stay in South American countries (remnant of Israel)...we will see.

As was suggested, it'll happen quietly!

Did anyone hear of the missionaries being pulled out of New Orleans before Katrina hit? I didn't hear anyone mention it until after the fact. I think it will be obvious after a time, but by then it might be obvious in other ways.
I read comments a while ago by BKP that members will have to step up more soon in helping the missionaries. Reading between-the-lines, it seemed like he was leading toward having to house the missionaries and being a much more direct support, sort of like how it was in the old days. That may be something to be prepared for. Maybe we could throw that into the 'sharing your food storage' thread!

We still have Mainland China, the Middle East, North Korea and Israel that we have to visit. All you doom and gloomers be gone
As for Katrina, I had a friend that was there during that time. They went north into Louisiana on short notice. He lost virtually everything in the Hurricane and had to send home for new suits and such. The did a lot of service work afterwards and made connections that way.

We probably are all aware that this must happen before "the Great Jehovah declares the work is done", but do you have any evidence that this must be accomplished before the millenium, or that the millenium cannot be used to sound the gospel in every ear, before the millenium, or for that matter, on this or that side of the veil?

We are already there, maybe not North Korea, but we had already been there before.

Mahonri,
Do you mean we have members there or have had missionaries there?

I think I remember a Prophet of God saying "every member a missionary".
but to me more specific, I think we have had both.
