I have lurking now for a couple of weeks, I have immensely enjoy the many discussions in this forum. I'm not by any means a scholar but I have an interest in last days prophecy and sign of the times. My question for all you; what is your take on the Lamanite blossoming talked about in Doctrine and Covenants and what role do you think it will have in the last days if any?

Take a look at how the peoples of Central and South America are joining the church and that should tell you! So far my stepson and 3 of my sons have been called to South America, and all has many, many baptisms.

I served in South America at the same time my brother served in Europe (all my brothers served in Western Europe). They were lucky to even participate in a baptism (usually a child over 9 who was being activated) and in my mission, we couldn't keep people out of the font!
That was almost 20 years ago...

If I understand correctly, aren't the Lamanites the main builders of Zion, the New Jerusalem?

As far as Lamanites being the main builders of the temples. They participate, just like many others. I would have to find the quotes from the prophet or apostles and post them for you. The Lamanites blossoming as a rose refers to them making covenants with Christ and keeping them.

An occasional whiff of nonsense goes around the Church acclaiming that the Lamanites will build the temple in the New Jerusalem and that Ephraim and others will come to their assistance. This illusion is born of an inordinate love for Father Lehi's children and of a desire to see them all become now as Samuel the Lamanite once was. The Book of Mormon passages upon which it is thought to rest have reference not to the Lamanites but to the whole house of Israel. The temple in Jackson County will be built by Ephraim, meaning the Church as it is now constituted; this is where the keys of temple building are vested, and it will be to this Ephraim that all the other tribes will come in due course to receive their temple blessings.

Together you and we shall build in the spectacular city of New Jerusalem the temple to which our Redeemer will come. Your hands with ours, also those of Jacob, will place the foundation stones, raise the walls, and roof the magnificent structure. Perhaps your artistic hands will paint the temple and decorate it with a master's touch, and together we shall dedicate to our Creator Lord the most beautiful of all temples ever built to his name.
