Democrat Lawmakers Introduce Bill for Nationwide Mail-in Voting: Necessary to ‘Make Real Progress’

Does this surprise anyone? I have to keep saying this lately, this is not a parody post. It is 100% real.

Democrat Lawmakers Introduce Bill for Nationwide Mail-in Voting: Necessary to ‘Make Real Progress’

Two Democrat lawmakers introduced a bill on Thursday, dubbed the “Vote at Home Act,” to expand “Oregon-style” mail-in voting nationwide, contending that the move is necessary to “make real progress” in the country.https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2021 ... -progress/

It's not just "stop the steal" any longer, it's "stop the perpetual steal."

Wouldn't this require a constitutional amendment? I mean sure the Feds might have the power over Federal Elections, but I cannot see how this could apply to state elections.

We will see how it all shakes out, who knows what they will attempt to do on a federal level. It is interesting to note that at least four contested states if I am remembering correctly, didn't follow their own state laws in last November's election, and because courts were either afraid to get involved, or complicit, we have J.B. setting in he White House.

The only valid form of voting is in person at a designated time and place. (the school cafeteria at 11pm)
The vote should be done by directing people to stand in an area designated for each choice (like under a sign).
Then the number of people are counted for each choice.

Everyone can only vote once because you can only be in one place at a time.
Everyone will know the outcome of the vote because everyone will be able to see the various bodies of voters and who was supported and by how much.

If you can't be there then your vote isn't counted.

The problem with that system is that it doesn't avoid corruption or fraud, merely changes the method by which its enacted. In such a system everyone knows who voted for whom, meaning that you can more easily threaten, persecute, attack/maim/incite mob violence, or even kill those who don't vote the way you want them to vote. This in turn, intimidates others to not vote, or to vote against the dictates of their own conscience. Its a system where Tyranny of the Majority is in full force at worst, and is constantly on the threat of being enacted at best.

Its actually one of the many ways blacks were surpressed in the south between the end of slavery in the US and the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s. So no, I do not support your proposed system.

If you can be intimidated then you get what you deserve. There is not system that will eliminate corruption, it can only be faced and fought. People need to stop hiding behind secret ballots and start standing up for what they believe. Voting in person, in the open, requires people to be brave (and to sacrifice).
