They have all noticed a small fraction of the number of colds and flu this year with their students compared to earlier years. They also each usually get colds and flu several times during the year because of being exposed so much at school. This year, the 3 daughters have not been sick.

Draw whatever conclusions you want, but they believe that it is because of the masks and social distancing since that is the only thing different this past year from previous years.
But is it worth destroying small and medium businesses with the concomitant loses to their owners, families, neighborhoods, coupled with many other losses to our liberty, just to prevent some relatively minor colds and flus? Not in my book.

And this reduced risk of minor illnesses probably has more to do with being out of contact with as many people, where the primary vector for the viruses is touch solved mainly by washing hands, and avoiding touching nose, mouth and face, not by wearing facial masks.

I think all businesses should be left alone. I think people should be free to choose masks or no masks. I think the social distancing and hygiene
has had a major effect. I just found it interesting that the daughters have noticed a general decrease in all normal school diseases.
