Edit to add: My pioneer ancestors didn't get burnt down...they came after.....one group got driven out of Nauvoo and went with Brigham Young in the first wagon train west...as they were highly prepared and ready for the trek when others weren't. Really? I personally felt repercussions from both the Clinton and Obama regimes. They destroyed an industry that I worked in. Locked up, and effectively ruined a favorite family / community recreational site that I and my family used to frequent. Directly because of their policies, I was harassed, intimidated, and hurt financially.

On the other hand I recall formative years learning that freedom comes with a price, usually by bullets (you can ask yourself which U.S. presidents had to pay that price), but sometimes by rhetoric, and always by courage. The administrations that have affected me most in the positive have been those that stood for correct principles of freedom and prosperity, and removed obstacles in the way of obtaining them. Those administrations were the ones that allowed me to stretch and reach previously unobtainable heights, instead of slowing me down to the speed of the slowest in class.

When they outright come out and say that they want to put you into a re-education camp, that you are better (for them) off dead, that you need to be put on a list for retribution (gestapo anyone?), that you shouldn't own anything, how can living in a gulag be better than past years of relative freedom?

Politicians say a lot of things but rarely ever accomplish any of the promises they make during the elections. Trump kept promising us that he would "drain the swamp." This slogan was critical in him getting elected. And yet how many crooked politicians have been arrested much less removed from office? I remember him telling Hillary "because you'd be in jail."
