Costco Punishes Free Speech

Post by Juliet »

Costco just canceled Palmetto Cheese since Palmetto said Black Lives Matter is a terrorist group. https://www.cbs8.com/mobile/article/mon ... a04a42861c

I don't know if Costco is too far gone. This is what I sent on their feedback page if anyone else wants to do something similar:

I was very upset to hear you are canceling Palmetto cheese because the business expressed their political views. I believe in free speech. You cannot change someone or some company's political views by force and have it last. If you want to have influence in the court of public opinion then you should encourage people to speak out and stand up for their beliefs, just as some companies stand up for gay rights. If Palmetto cheese is wrong, why not start a discourse as this is the proper way to go about influencing people's opinions. I do not support using your wealth and power to stifle the beliefs of others. Such behavior is as evil or more evil then doing business with a company that expresses something your company disagrees with ideologically. Since your company is as large as it is, let's not walk over freedom of speech by denying business to those expressing their truth. Let's let all speak and then if there be wrong ideology, let's use reason and truth to persuade others.

Very nice note that will fall on the deaf ears of Costco ....with home base in Kirkland Washington in the midst of the glorious Utopia that is Seattle and suburbs.....costco is very adept at leaning left and then some more.....truth is relevant and the top dogs don't want bull horns and molotov cocktails at their homes .....so good bye to any vendor who doesn't tow the party line....and good riddance........warehouses not on fire are preferable to ones that are........unfortunately this is where we are.

Many years ago my good friend suggested costcos membership exclusivity and their checking people on the way out was nwo social conditioning. That stuck with me... Fifteen years at least.

Costco had social distancing signs up almost immediately after this scam went down. We're talking back during the fifteen days to slow the spread nonsense. I remember how odd it was Costco had these fabricated signs ready to go and had placed them all around the store before we really had any idea how long this would last. This was well before mask mandates.

I've experimented with this. I've shown the guy at the door my driver's license, my concealed carry permit, and my business card (which isn't even white), and every time he let me in without fail. I think they're checking membership cards at the door so you don't realize you forgot it once you've gotten to the cashier with 200 pounds of stuff. But your friend, of course, may also be right.

Your story adds more weight to the conditioning aspect. The checking of the receipt at the door is a part of the conditioning.

A covid program membership or the like would fit this conditioning. We'll be checking your membership status at the door to make sure you're up to date on your vaccines and are a global citizen in good standing. Because without such guarantees we are disease ridden filth who need to cover our faces so we don't breathe on other people. We must also keep our distance so we don't get our filth on other people.
