Time, Space, & Eternity

Time, Space, & Eternity.
Let’s start with some education.
In order for us to communicate at any level there must be an agreed to convention. In this case, in the here and now, you are reading what I have written based on alphabet symbols that we both recognize. The alphabetic symbols are designed to allow me to present abstract concepts in writing to your mind thereby conveying my ideas to you. I give and you receive.
By my definition there are four distinct elements required to enable communication between me and you. 1) What I write (or say); 2) What I mean when I write it (or say it); 3) What you read (or hear); 4) What you interpret from what you read (or hear). Clarity between these elements of communication are extremely vital for communication between us to occur.
When it comes to life experiences here on earth we are very diversified in both time, events, and circumstances. Depending upon our individual paths, we may arrive at the same or very different destinations and/or conclusions. This concept is very abstract yet easily understood when compared by way of common reference points. For example; I tell you that when I was a boy I owned and rode a little red bike. The statement conjures an image to your mind. (Pause here and visualize the image you have generated from the above) My references, expressed based upon my experiences, are conveyed to you in a manner that you may also be able to relate to. For example;
From my statement you may visualize a boy and a small red bike. Maybe a small boy and a tricycle or a young boy with a two-wheeled bicycle. Compare what I wrote with what I meant against what you read and what you have interpreted to be what I mean. When considered in context of the four principles of communication I listed can you see how easy it is for miscommunication to occur? Let me clarify.
When I was 16 years of age, I owned a powerfully chopped red motorcycle that could exceed 100mph. Now with this additional information did the image you originally conceptualize change? Does this example more accurately convey to your understanding my statement? In this example, it is only after clarification that we have met in mind based upon the principles of communication that I outlined above. The revelation I disclosed initially, while accurate and true, didn’t necessarily convey to you the accurate meaning and there was room for misunderstanding because of the different reference perspectives. Additional clarification crystalized the picture and may have changed what you initially thought you understood. Do you see it?
Why is this concept so important to understand? It’s important to understand because we live in a day and age where communication has become so degraded that Satan has led millions of people off the path of righteousness, indeed off the cliff of life into the pit of despair, through misuse and misapplication of the common language. Instead of plain simplistic language, there is slang or laziness of speech. We hear double meanings and inuendo couched in cleverly contrived lies. Often what you hear and what is meant are completely different. In fact, the language can be used to entrap you into bondage and even death.
For example; How often have you visited a store and been asked the question, “Did you find everything ok,” “Did you find everything you were looking for?” These might seem to be innocent even innocuous questions? Yes? Or No? Follow me for a moment and wax strong in the world of spirits. I won’t tell you everything I know because it would take too long. (You probably wouldn’t believe me anyway) But let me phrase it this way. That which is strong is weak, and that which is weak is strong. What does that mean? In one sense as we become purer, we go about our lives becoming more and more like little children – innocent, faithful, and naïve. “Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:3)
So, what about communication? “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1) At the moment/time of spiritual creation, the “word” is with the God that forms it. Further, the power of the word is bestowed upon the newly created being and all things become new. The promise is that anything asked for will be given. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.” (John 16:23) Consider this for a moment. What if you were granted the power of the word? What would you do with it? Now consider this. What if you were granted the power of the word and a devil asked you, “Did you find everything ok?” There are many people who flippantly answer, yes!” Translated before God that means the person is satisfied with their current condition, - according to Satan. Do you see where I’m going? Do you understand what I mean? How can you be advanced if you haven’t learned to be sober in everything, in all aspects of life? You are in a world of wolves who will use the word to destroy you if they can. Be sober, and smart.
“Ammaron said unto me: I perceive that thou art a sober child, and art quick to observe;” (Mormon 1:2)
And the admonition of Jesus to his true disciples;
“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.” (Matthew 10:16-20)
True communication in its purest form can only be by the spirit – the Holy Spirit. Why? Because the Holy Spirit is the one single commonality between all of us – between all creations. When we transact our thoughts using rudimentary symbols, we leave the door open to misunderstanding, suppositions, assumptions, and generally miscommunication. That leaves us divided, each holding fast to their own opinion of spirit. That division between us is what Satan wants to nurture. It keeps the saints separated from one another and It forms the gulf of darkness between our understandings that keeps us from becoming one with each other. “I and my Father are one.” (John 10:30) If we truly want to become one with God we must learn first how to become one with one another. How?
“I glory in plainness; I glory in truth; I glory in my Jesus, for he hath redeemed my soul from hell.” (2 Nephi 33:6) “for behold, my soul delighteth in plainness unto my people, that they may learn.” (2 Nephi 25:4)
When we communicate by the power of the spirit of the Holy Ghost we can overcome the limitations of our language barriers. The one commonality between all men and women is the universal spirit or the light of Christ. Hence, when we truly communicate it is by and through the power of the spirit. “when a man speaketh by the power of the Holy Ghost the power of the Holy Ghost carrieth it unto the hearts of the children of men.” (2 Nephi 33:1) “And whatsoever they shall speak when moved upon by the Holy Ghost shall be scripture, shall be the will of the Lord, shall be the mind of the Lord, shall be the word of the Lord, shall be the voice of the Lord, and the power of God unto salvation.” (D&C 68:4) Consequently we “belong” to or with those with whom we “connect” with on a spiritual level – a Holy Spirit level. That connection is what binds us to the kingdom of glory that we occupy. Make sense? Those whom we connect with are those possessed with the selfsame spirit. Get it? Before you can progress, you must learn how to communicate in spirit both in the physical and in the spiritual worlds. You must learn how to distinguish between and forsake that evil one that has been a liar from the beginning – even Satan the deceiver. “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” (2 Thessalonians 2:10)
Now how does this apply to the relationship between time, space, distance, and eternity? Start by realizing that right now, right here, you are your present time but also in my past as you relate to what I’ve written. For you, now, in your present time, you are involved. But for me, it is in the past because I’ve already written it and moved on to something else. Understand? As for space, there isn’t any, or said another way at each respective moment we both occupy the same space based upon the same subject. You in yours and me in mine. Separate and distinct yet distant and unique. Comprendre? As you read my writings how far are you away from me? As you read the prophetic writings how far away from God are you? Can you now better understand that you are in his/my presence right here, right now? If you do, and the spirit willing, we are together as one in the spirit. And if you will hear it this is God in spirit manifested in the flesh.
“Thus saith the Lord your God, even Jesus Christ, the Great I Am, Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the same which looked upon the wide expanse of eternity, and all the seraphic hosts of heaven, before the world was made; The same which knoweth all things, for all things are present before mine eyes;” (D&C 38:1-2)
“[Teach] them to observe all things whatsoever : and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28:20)
“And now, behold, you have received a witness; for if I have told you things which no man knoweth have you not received a witness?” (D&C 6:24)
“For the time speedily cometh that the Lord God shall cause a great division among the people, and the wicked will he destroy; and he will spare his people, yea, even if it so be that he must destroy the wicked by fire.” (2 Nephi 30:10)
In my feeble way I have tried to express to you that there is not time, space, nor distance, in eternity. Let the mysteries go, stop contending one with another, just appreciate the moment in the here and now. The rest will take care of itself.
