I have been considering a smaller calliber gun for my wife. Are there any thoughts on the .32 acp from CZ? My experience has been with the 9mm and .45 calliber. :?:

Everyone! That's a very silly question!

Take Nephi as your example. He had his day's equivalent (a sword).

I had a friend try to tell me not to buy my wife a .357 mag because he thought she wouldn't be able to handle it. He was wrong. Especially when it is loaded with .38 special.

I think I would recommend that for your wife. If she happens to be small, revolver grips are usually smaller than automatics, I think. Also, that gives her the option of a serious .357 mag load or the .38 special pipsqueek for whatever fits her mood or situation. You can easily drop a deer with .357 mag if you can shoot and the critter is w/in range.

For me, I prefer the .44 mag, though that ammo is expensive.

I think I am leaning to the Glock 22. It uses the wonderful .40 S&W. My wife wants to try it first so we will be going out with a cousin I have that carries one.

I meant the walls in your house stopping the shot from getting someone in another room...

like sheetrock at 5 feet maybe...

The reason I bring this up is many individuals whom I've discussed home defense with have this idea that if they use bird shot they won't get a family member in another room. You appeared to mention something along those lines...hence my question about whether you had tested the theory...
I watched an episode of Personal Defense TV about a month ago or so. They did a test by standing up sheets of plywood (half inch thick if I remember correctly) and spaced them about 10 ft apart. They stood back about 10 ft and then shot various loads at them.

Birdshot penentrated 1 wall (left a big hole), speckled the 2nd wall but did not penentrated the second.

00 Buckshot went through 2 walls and speckled the 3rd.

The slug went through 4 walls (which was all they set up) but who knows how many it could have gone through.

My neighbor offered to sell me one for $330. I haven't priced them out nor have I shot one so I'll have to see if it makes sense for me to buy it.
