Elder Paul Watkins prays the new Feather River California temple will help us put our faith in the Aposltes
In the dedicatory prayer, Elder Watkins also prayed, “As the temple foundation is poured, and the walls are placed, and the roof is formed, let us all revitalize our foundational faith in apostles and prophets with Jesus Christ being our chief cornerstone.”

Uh wow
That's incredible
A. Feeling a bit insecure about something there?
B. Are there any scriptures about having faith in the apostles?

Why...
I have charity for Church leadership and have no malice towards them, but when they do things like this, encouraging idolatry, I just can't stand it

I can't help but think that God has quit our church, due to its lack of zeal for the truth, yet the leadership just keeps doubling down on its anointedness. It's like a giant rip is in progress.

Take your pick!
Sustaining Church Leaders
To pledge support to those serving in general and local Church leadership positions.
Hebrews 13:17
17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
3 Nephi 10:12–13
12 And it was the more righteous part of the people who were saved, and it was they who received the prophets and stoned them not; and it was they who had not shed the blood of the saints, who were spared—
13 And they were spared and were not sunk and buried up in the earth; and they were not drowned in the depths of the sea; and they were not burned by fire, neither were they fallen upon and crushed to death; and they were not carried away in the whirlwind; neither were they overpowered by the vapor of smoke and of darkness.
3 Ne. 12:1.
1 And it came to pass that when Jesus had spoken these words unto Nephi, and to those who had been called, (now the number of them who had been called, and received power and authority to baptize, was twelve) and behold, he stretched forth his hand unto the multitude, and cried unto them, saying: Blessed are ye if ye shall give heed unto the words of these twelve whom I have chosen from among you to minister unto you, and to be your servants; and unto them I have given power that they may baptize you with water; and after that ye are baptized with water, behold, I will baptize you with fire and with the Holy Ghost; therefore blessed are ye if ye shall believe in me and be baptized, after that ye have seen me and know that I am.
D&C 1:38.
38 What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same.
D&C 21:5.
5 For his word ye shall receive, as if from mine own mouth, in all patience and faith.
D&C 84:35–38.
35 And also all they who receive this priesthood receive me, saith the Lord;
36 For he that receiveth my servants receiveth me;
37 And he that receiveth me receiveth my Father;
38 And he that receiveth my Father receiveth my Father’s kingdom; therefore all that my Father hath shall be given unto him.
D&C 112:20.
20 Whosoever receiveth my word receiveth me, and whosoever receiveth me, receiveth those, the First Presidency, whom I have sent, whom I have made counselors for my name’s sake unto you
D&C 124:45–46.
45 And if my people will hearken unto my voice, and unto the voice of my servants whom I have appointed to lead my people, behold, verily I say unto you, they shall not be moved out of their place.
46 But if they will not hearken to my voice, nor unto the voice of these men whom I have appointed, they shall not be blest, because they pollute mine holy grounds, and mine holy ordinances, and charters, and my holy words which I give unto them.
John 13:20
20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
Luke 10:16 Those who receive Christ’s disciples receive Christ----
16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
So it boils down to that when any of us reject the servants of God, including apostles, we then are rejecting Christ, himself. It's in the book!
Is anyone going to say Christ is mistaken, that he really doesn't mean what he says?

Re: Elder Paul Watkins prays the new Feather River California temple will help us put our faith in the Aposltes
This so called servant who would have us put our faith in apostles has made a gross error. The object of our faith is Jesus Christ not a man. Giving heed to the counsel of a true prophet or apostle is a magnitude of difference from having faith in a man which is a false and dangerous doctrine. It is satanic in nature. His precept is obviously not given by the holy ghost as it is false doctrine.righteousrepublic wrote: ↑July 20th, 2020, 4:28 am2 Nephi 28:31investigator wrote: ↑July 20th, 2020, 3:24 am O Lord, I have trusted in thee, and I will trust in thee forever. Re: Elder Paul Watkins prays the new Feather River California temple will help us put our faith in the Aposltes
I think it's a poor attempt to connect a scriptural reference about foundations and cornerstones of the church with the literal foundations of the temple during construction. He probably thought it was poetic.
If reworded to replace the word 'faith', it would be fine. Nothing more than mediocre poetry.
However, if this was on a teleprompter (scripted), then that's a troubling red flag indeed.

Don't you wish you were correct? Personal opinions mean nothing in the face of scripture and are an example of those we call "arm of the flesh" as they spread their own precepts, something we are warned about, also, in scripture as shown above. How ironic.investigator wrote: ↑July 20th, 2020, 6:22 amThis so called servant who would have us put our faith in apostles has made a gross error. The object of our faith is Jesus Christ not a man. This so called servant you say is in gross error is Nephi, the son of Lehi, a humble, great prophet of God. I am sorry you feel this way.

Is our eye not supposed to be single to the glory of God? Should our faith be in man, or in God and His word? Geez, people. Get over it. Remember this passage from Isaiah 29:20-21
"For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:
That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought."
"For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:
That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought."

So will we finally learn that which is “just” and what the Lord’s “word” is? Or will we merrily let others interpret for us? In other words, will we in faith and belief hunger and thirst after his word / righteousness and as a result, receive?... too often we do not want to come unto Christ with a full purpose of heart but want to lean unto our own understanding. Perilous is this journey that leads us to a ditch because of our choice of being vision impaired which motivates following other vision impaired people... look to Christ by knowing him and live / receive...

People who "watch for iniquity" in others would do well to watch themselves first.
People who try to play nitpicky word games are like the Pharisees and lawyers who tried to trip up Jesus and get him to misspeak, whereupon they could attack him.
A sincere person misspeaking is a "thing of nought," or nothing to get concerned with. The Lord looks on the heart and our motives. This is a small thing. We all need to focus on getting a remission of our own sins instead of attacking others.

You're assuming there's only so much faith a person can have. I have 100% faith in Christ and I also have faith in my wife and I have faith in myself and I have faith in my family members and I have faith in my neighbors etc. etc. I have faith that when I turn on the light switch the lights will turn on because I have faith that the people working at the power plant are doing their job. Of course, all glory goes to God as your post referenced. Glory and faith are two different things.
Hopefully you have faith enough in yourself to get up every morning and brush your teeth. Having faith that God will do it for you will be fruitless. However, once you've brushed your teeth, sure, give God the glory.
Having faith in a Prophet-
13 ...My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?
14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

Guess we should dump the Book of Mormon and entire Restoration, too, then, by that reasoning. Joseph was/is the Prophet of this, the last dispensation. An actual Prophet, Seer, and Revelator, who prophesied, saw, and revealed. There's faith, then there's dogma of faith.
