`(8) Whoever knowingly violates subsection (aa), (bb), or (dd) of section 922 shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both.'.

(b) Failure To Comply With Universal Background Checks; Failure To Timely Report Loss or Theft of a Qualifying Firearm; Failure To Provide Notice of Change of Address- Section 924(a)(5) of such title is amended by striking `(s) or (t)' and inserting `(t), (cc), (ee), or (ff)'.

I figure after enough armed people are in my group it will be time to capture some territory. After that I will want unarmed beat down workers that I may have to find and persuade (if you know what I mean). After I have a good slave labor force I should be able to organize them in groups for your farming, construction, and so forth. I will have to give constant reminders of my resolve by abusing my power. It will then be time to look for architects, scietists, and engineers. I will have to guard/watch these 24-7, but they will have higher status and living conditions. The slaves will resent them for their status and the upper class will think they are better and resent the lowly slaves. Keep them at eachothers' throats and always have an outside enemy to keep them barely together. Next I will want to erect a palace to show my prestige and power. Unfortunatley I will want to get rid of all of the people in the original group. They will think they are equal to me and want to share my power, or perhaps even take it for themselves. Of coarse I will want to raise their replacements from the slave group. Adopt whatever culture and religion that they have and make a national church. I will have to pick the preachers. Discourage education and rid myself of all dissidents publicly. Throw in some nationalism and start taxing or taking over surrounding territories. I might have to join or ally myself with a stronger/equal feudal lord to begin with, but that will change after time. :P

That is how to be succesful if things crumble. It is a simple plan, but that is all I want. I would be happy with montana, Idaho, washigton, and part of canada.

Can you all provide me with some info or quotes on exactly why you believe martial law is coming and how you think it could be feasibly carried out in the U.S.? I know that I'm hijacking the thread but I'm asking out of pure ignorance and a sincere desire to know, so please forgive me.
If you control food supplies then you control the population. They will flock to rex-84 camps for food. Some people commit crimes to go to jail, because they are hungry. I imagine this would be a good place to start. When people are hungry they only think about food.

You are right that everyone relies to much on government to take care of them. Cities would be much easier.

I personally believe it would take a 100 million soldiers to implement martial law in the US. Maybe more, but that is just an opinion. I am by no means an expert on this.

6 items that may be coming soon to the Latter-days near/far from you.

1. no money
2. no food
3. emp/earthquakes/terror activity/natural disasters
4. martial law
5. foreign troops on our soil.
6. losing the spirit of the Lord/ Priesthood worthiness/ hearts of men fail.

Six things to help survive are all easy to prepare for but who knows what will really happen and how will we react.

1. Have a tent/camper/ some type of shelter that you and yours can survive in. Make your clothes. Shoes might be hard. Have a spare or two. Plan ahead for your youth.
2. Food storage/seeds/gardens/cooking/ know how to rough it. (Medicine or herbs) A way to fight sickness.
3. Stay alert at all times. Be a Boy/Girl Scout. Help your family and immediate family first. Have a plan of action.
4. Go on a camping trip with your friends and family. You may not have to leave your area. Don't leave unless you have to for safety. Try and not leave a trail of bread crumbs unless you have to.
5. Lay Low and continue to have a plan of action. If your forced to eventually fight, then fight. (aquire guns, knives)
6. Prayer, Scriptures, Priesthood blessings(oil rtg), attend Church, Follow the Prophet, his leaders and their council.

Not wanting to drag out a debate over WHETHER martial law or equivalent is likely -- I think it is, and in the next 6 months or so. But please, do you guys have any advice of how to prepare for martial law?
Buy gold, and don't get into the box cars?

I have not read others comments in this question so my opinion is not tainted. I think the best things to do are the simple things that bring us closer to the Lord. Prayer, home evening, scripture study, temple attendence and home storage. I think that it may be a good idea to move out of large cities and get to know your neighbors. When things fall apart we will need each other more than we realize. Pray for our communities and do not fear the government. It will not be around when you need it as demonstrated in New Orleans. We are stronger when we stand together rather than pulling apart. 8)
