Yet another reason I like what Defending Utah is doing, especially with their trainings, citizen activism, and informing people about their rights in relation to government. Just this week they rallied together with citizens of Sandy, and others, in support of a local Sandy business.

A local Sandy business, Kuwahara's Wholesale, has been facing increasing opposition (and insurmountable financial burden due to government demands) from Sandy City, in violation of their free market rights.

Defending Utah heard about this and went to the aid of Kuwahara by educating them of their rights in this situation and by rallying together support of local citizens at a recent City Council meeting.

One of the problems with government tyranny is the citizens often don't understand their rights and what they can do to stand up for those rights, and so they usually take the easier path of giving in to the tyrannical demands of government. Also, the government officials themselves are often operating in ignorance and don't always fully understand they are actually acting in opposition to citizen's rights. There comes a breaking point when the burden is too great.

I love shopping here. The plants are great. It's so sad how all this is going on. I wonder what Sandy wants to do with the property? I think they want the land for something.

Right. So many good comments at that meeting by citizens who understand their God-given rights. Unfortunately, most City Councils, and most other government officials across the nation, don't care. They are either corrupt or never understood the proper role of government to begin with. Many were probably well-intentioned, at first, but never bothered to operate based on an understanding of correct principles.
