oh. my. days.
i like this guy. his analyses are often accurate and sound.
but oh how I want to respond to this video. he mentions shy of halfway thru that he wants to debate a Mormon apologist,
boy I’m here.
if people would contribute to my argument, as well as my claim-for-debate...
ill post my full response later

must be nice....sitting in a comfortable chair in the 21st century, decreeing how things were in the 1830's....
so many completely false ideas, and easily disproved drivel. not worth a debate.

1. Evidence is inconclusive at best saying that Christ may or may not have had a wife, much less more than one.
2. Much of what he is citing at least in the first minute or so isn't really official doctrine to begin with and therefore holds little actual weight, though some of it IS based on logical tangents taken from official doctrine.

Yeah, on many things he's good-on this one he just doesn't have a clue.

Love can be deceitful and cunning unless it submits itself to truth. Truth can be deceitful and cunning unless it submits to the Holy Spirit.
Only under the influence of the Holy Spirit do truth and love turn out the way they are supposed to turn out, nurturing life as opposed to killing it or sending it away.
I don't think this guy has anything wrong with his heart. His logic is the result of honesty and doesn't seem to have an ill motive behind his influence.
But has he had the spiritual discernment to accurately judge?
Unfortunately, too many of us operate as a partial brain awareness, either the heart, or the mind, or the spirit. (Or the flesh of course). Hence, those who are partial to one over another tend to discount and deny the realities of the others, offending them and furthering the separation. If only there was some atonement that could be applied.
Totally with him that we should not be enforcing our rules on other people without their consent.

Once upon a time I paid a nefarious number of cents for

.
It soon became very apparent that it was a very bad idea.
but not scary brakes.

in all honesty, I’m much less interested in Joseph Smith jr hearsay / dodginess and church history in general, I just find it dead boring and well tedious, though I’m willing and able to if need be. joseph is mild compared to some prophets tbh. Anyway what I want to debate is theology, to debate god, and to debate good & evil etc. and Styx also is well versed and interested in these and many other subjects and may well likely also be interested in debating a well-versed Mormon on them. i’m finding it hard to reach out to him though since im largely off social media. if I make a twitter account can I just dm him, or is it like Facebook where it’s filtered somehow?
if I could arrange a discussion (i prefer that format to debate, really) it could mayhaps expose an interesting slice of people to the more brilliant and intricate parts of our true religion, assuming I represent it well haha. im a good debater though

this is my conclusion as well, after having seen a fair number of his videos. i think I’ve been a subscriber of his on youtube for some years now
as far as his discernment and judgement go, both good and less good things stand to be said, in my humble estimation.

Entropy or ENTPs rule.
When YouTube won’t run in the background, simply utilize a second device.

I've watched this guy for a while now. He seems to be genuinely interested in getting to the truth of the matter. After he got so much wrong about the Church he has me questioning his insights on other topics . I hope he researches those topics better than he did on his polygamy topic.
