I dont know what to tell you. If living in an evolving society is too scary for you, go buy property in Amish country.
Show me a scriptural example of a society that widely accepted homosexuality and evolved into anything but a smoldering ash heap.
Right now you can go to the Leonardo in down town Salt Lake City and view the remains of a society that widely accepted homosexuality.

Why do you get so worked up over how others choose to use their agency? Does it really affect you? I get it, you have to read more media and see more stuff centered around that lifestyle than you'd like.....but does it really REALLY affect you in any way?

It does affect me actually. Lehi and his family had to leave their ancestral lands, and belongings behind and go into the wilderness because the rest of his peers in Jerusalem were "evolving"
Lot had to leave his ancestral lands and belongings and go live in a cave because his peers and neighbors were "evolving"
There were innocent children buried in the ash and ruins of Pompeii because the people of that city were "evolving"
I am going to be negatively impacted by the judgement god brings upon this nation and this church because of their choices.

Also this isn't a scriptural example of god accepting homosexuality.

If I didn't believe the gospel, the last thing I would do is spend my time on here debating us prudes. I would be out eating drinking and being merry. If you don't believe that God will bring us all under condemnation for embracing homosexuality and immorality what possible reason do you have for being here beyond trying to push an agenda?

Oh so I say something you disagree with and you 1) presume to know what's in my heart and what my faith is or is not, 2) presume how I should be living my life if I dont agree with you, and 3) invite me to kindly leave the forum?
No thanks. I can be here disagreeing with delusional people as long as I feel like it.

Oh yeah, well I'm rubber and you are glue etc etc. I can't believe you actually just quoted me. LOL mine was an honest question. I will answer yours: No, what Markharr believes or the way he does things has absolutely no impact on my life whatsoever outside of giving me the occasional chuckle when I get on here and read things he wrote or responded with.

The SL Trib has announced that they verified rumors that BYU has removed the section of the Honor Code that prohibited dating, hand-holding, and kissing by homosexuals (with each other).

MMB has screen shots from a student who claims that she personally went to the Honor Code office to verify that showing affection and dating was now permitted by two gay people. She said they told her that it's no longer against the rules.

This means that it's no longer against Church policy either.
The new handbook states "unchaste" homosexual behavior . . .which means some homosexual behavior is chaste-i.e. holding hands, dating, kissing.
Bye, bye Miss American Pie . . .
So I guess this means that as long as I don't have "unchaste" relationships with a woman who is not my wife I'm not doing anything wrong either.

They are already facebooking and tweeting about "gay parties" this weekend. Bring a gay date and join the fun!!!! Make out to your heart's content with your gay love interest!!!!!
I don't see this ending well............
Where did the Lord say the cleansing would begin? Oh yeah, in His own house.

If we allow sin amongst the people and allow it to be showcased, we are not condemning it as inappropriate or immoral behaviour.
I can't bring investigators or friends to church anymore because of all the recent changes to church policy because they'd call me a hypocrite for our stance on this and other issues that mainstream Christianity identifies as sinful behaviour.
Christ lead by example. If we allow the examples of homosexuals to be displayed on church grounds, we are not following Christs example.

Was that not what happened to almost all the prophets in the scriptures? They were shunned, stoned and ridiculed. At least those that did stand up will know they were doing what's right!

From BYU Twitter account this afternoon:
"With the recently released general handbook of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Church Educational System has updated the CES Honor Code to be in alignment with the doctrine and policies of the Church."
