Perhaps the wife and I will do this in the summer....though my wife will choose wine instead of whiskey....I'm a heathen though

Also, this was just their visit to Havana. Imagine how much worse it is in other cities and towns in Cuba.

I have never heard one good thing about Cuba. So that is a lie?

I know a guy here in the States who has recent Mexican heritage. He and his brother were visiting Mexico and were intrigued by really cheap round-trip tickets to Cuba. So, they flew to Cuba for a few-days' trip, but came back to Mexico after just one day in Cuba. They said it was horrible there. Felt much safer in Mexico.

My father was stationed at Gtmo when I was in 5th and 6th grade. It was a tomboy’s heaven there for families of Navy personnel! Swimming pools, horseback riding, and after hours mischief to get into—climbing a radio tower, starting a crane, throwing eggs at drunk sailors, etc.

However, I had a classmate who still had her blood-stained dress from climbing through barbed wire to escape from Cuba to Guantanamo. Only she and her father survived out of her whole family.

We used to take a ferry from one side of the base to the other. My parents would keep an eye out for corpses of unsuccessful escapees and would move us over to the other side of the ferry to shield us from seeing that.

A lot of times at night we would hear a lot of machine gunfire. My parents said they were just having drills, but told us when we were older that it was escapees getting gunned down. My father, being a helicopter pilot, would see the aftermath in the morning.

I can’t tell you how many stories we heard of people very much risking their lives to get out of Cuba.

Unlike many Latinos, Cubans are generally very conservative politically. They know too well where leftism leads.
