Ebola kills close to 100% of those who contract it. This virus doesn’t come anywhere’s near that figure.

I don't think extremism in either downplaying or fearmongering is helpful to either cause.

I think it is serious and concerning and precautions should be made and if it gets people to get a month or two of supplies in their food storage, so much the better.

Right now, my gut tells me Coronavirus is being DOWNPLAYED, by the media, unlike West Nile, Ebola, Avian Flu, etc. which I felt they (the media) exaggerated. But it is only a feeling. A month from now we will see if the cases outside China have exploded. Right now I just don't trust the official numbers from China. There are things that don't add up.

One thing that I read in the last day or two is that China is not following the WHO guideline of counting an asymptomatic person who is tested positive as a confirmed case - they only count the person as confirmed if they test positive AND show symptoms. <---- I don't know if that accusation is true, but if it is, China at least is going to get decimated in my opinion. But that is a big if.

At first, I thought this was just another scare tactic but I'm not too sure anymore

We have no idea because China is hiding the facts on this pandemic.

If this was similar to the flu, would China have locked down numerous cities, be building pre-fab hospitals; would cruise ships be quarantined; would the US be preparing quarantine centers on military bases for thousands of patients? And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

If it was similar to flu, would the Church have pulled over 100 missionaries out of Hong Kong, and put them in 14-day isolation?

Latest figures place the number of deaths at just over 1,000. That figure changes daily.

That is the "official" number. Almost no one believes it.

If only 1000 people have died of nCoV, why are almost a half billion people quarantined? Why has the US ceased all flights into China, and refusing entry into the US by any person who has been to China in the past 14 days? Why are major companies pulling out of the Mobile World Trade Show (the largest of its kind) in Barcelona on Feb 24-28.

How do you find these random YouTube channels? The video says “A Chinese Billionaire says ‘I have sources that confirm,”.

Wake me up when you find these sources.

I have been watching Dr John Campbell, Peak Prosperity, and Andology on YouTube. They use the official sources, they don't act insane, and their information will help you prepare in case this virus keeps spreading.

Ah cool the guy in the first video finds time to pitch what appears to be a coaching program for cryptocurrency.

Anyone in the business of coaching immediately loses credibility to me. The vast majority of these guys haven’t made any significant money , if any at all, doing what they are coaching you to do.

Please start with Dr John Campbell. He was posting medical videos before this virus appeared.

At current rate, 100 more days gives you a full season of flu deaths. The death rate appears to be closer to 5%... because you have to take today's deaths as a percentage of new cases from like a week ago. The incubation period is now more like up to 24 days not 14, says China today. And virus can live for up to 9 days on surfaces says Germany.

This may blow over or die out or mutate into a less deadly varient. Ask me again around Conference time.... will have a better prognosis by then.

In the mean time, have 3 months of what you normally eat on hand... just in case.

1. just because a guy is a salesman, and a good one at that - selling BITCOIN,
to make money, and he keeps his youtube channel going, doesn't have ANYTHING to do with the credibility
of his news stories that he brings out. lol. He could have some of the best and most current news.

sometimes that's true, but in this case you're wrong; and even if it were true,

could hardly be considered a "random YouTube channel".

4. also - as far as Sources go - why would anyone what to really divulge their sources so you wouldn't need them anymore.

5. and these alarmists as you say many times ARE right, and it's good we have them, and MANY other youtube channels
that try to find out what's really goin on; instead of trusting your fake news mainstream media that just a propaganda machine.
He has many good sources, and even sometimes shows the article, newspaper, news channel, etc.;
and sometimes you see news that shows up on his channel before you see it anywhere else.

and it's more like anyone that trusts the mainstream news media is usually as insane as they are.

He's selling bitcoin? Do you even know how buying/trading crypto works? It doesn't appear to me that you do, based on this single comment.
Feel free to buy coaching. There's a reason the government tends to shut down companies that sell predatory coaching programs whenever they pop up. They prey on old clueless people who almost always waste tens of thousands of dollars on this garbage.

lol. Why would they divulge their sources? Because any random person can say "I have a source in China who says that aliens are now running the Chinese government".

You're being fooled if you just take what you hear because you want to hear it without looking for the source. That's how people end up believing whatever the freak they want to believe regardless of actual facts.

I'm not advocating for mainstream news media. I hold them to the same standard. When they cite "anonymous sources" or "trusted sources" and it's never revealed, even after the fact who the source was, they deserve criticism, and so do the sheep that just take them at their word.

"Trusted source says that Donald Trump is a serial Killer" --"OH MY GOSH GUYS I TOLD YOU SEE WASHINGTON POST SAYS IT! THEY EVEN SAY THEY HAVE A TRUSTED SOURCE"

It's responsible journalism to cite your source if you're dealing with claims about life threatening virus and the rate at which it's spreading. Or like when someone dies? For example, an ABC NEWS REPORTER said that ALL of Kobe's children died with him. No source cited. Turns out he was wrong. There are certain situations in which journalists aren't expected to cite their source, like when a basketball team executive leaks inside information to the press(Yeah, worthless information) , and this kind of thing isn't one of them.

Subscriber count doesn't mean much, there are fake accounts and bots that follow/subscribe all over youtube, reddit, twitter, instagram, and facebook. There are all kinds of things that someone with money can do to manipulate their public image and appear larger than they really are.
There are authentic content creators with a 5th, or even a 10th of his subscribers who get more views than his videos. ~20k views per video isn't that crazy, especially for someone who supposedly has almost 700,000 people subscribed to his content.

It's weird to me that so many people have a weird level of admiration for salesmen. The same people who look down upon Lawyers and sneer at them prop up salesmen.
