Only the announcement that the lost 116 pages have been found and are being published, and will be included into the Book of Mormon will surprise me.
I expect more church wide goals for the benefit of the "business of the corporation".
Something I would never forget, would be to personally receive a letter from President Nelson urging me to sell all that I have and head to Jackson County.
Even a huge giant announcement like China opening it's borders to missionary work doesn't lay in the realm of "unforgettable".
The 116 pages are not really needed.
I believe the experience we receive will be deeply personal and not dependent upon an action the church takes. Even if it’s just those who have been truly laboring with faith and keeping the commands and covenants receive a deeply personal validation from the spirit it would be unforgettable to them as their faith transforms into a sure knowledge.

All this thread proves is that very few of you heard the prophecy of the last conference. I'll bet you'll miss it in the upcoming conference as well.

Don't start with 'don't speculate or you will apostatize'...
Anyone have any thoughts on what will happen?
Things I've heard online, ranked in no specific order.
-Broadcast from conference center in Rexburg and the Sacred Grove
-Sealed portion of plates
-What was told to Joseph Smith during the 1st vision that he has never revealed
-Changes in priesthood structure.
-Temple in MO
-Pick any other topic of speculation....
-Im hoping that Star Wars is accepted as cannon.
I’d welcome it as long as it’s not the horrendous Sequel Trilogy. That is an abomination.

I once watch my cat jump like six feet in air to grab two birds, one with each front paw....He pinned them both but let one go while he ate the other.
That was unforgettable to me
And probably to the birds.

There will be many talks about how the church spends its money on charity, welfare, temples, missionaries, etc. They have to make excuses for the 500 billion in assets and cash.

Yes, Pres. Nelson's talk on the charity the Church does, surprised me. I still remember Hinckley's talk (IIRC) basically saying we don't advertise the work we do because we don't want to be seen of the world (i.e. give not your alms- before men) deal.

One can only hope heavenly messages have heralded the era of floating structures that shall save many from instant death should the waves heave beyond their shores.

If it is anything like the last 100 years, it will just be more philosophies or men mingled with scripture.

We'll be told it was glorious, momentous, unprecedented, and a spiritual feast and many will believe it because they were told it was so. So pretty much the same as every other conference.

Everyone that I asked has stated that they believe there will be new scripture. I am not a church history buff. My question is, has scripture been introduced at General Conference? If so, then it would not be new scripture.

You would think they could use a few pennies of that ( a drop in the ocean for them) to help some of their own members;
starving children that are members in other parts of the world.
The church probably had many of these sites removed where I previously had found this information, because I can't find the websites now, but here are some other quotes I found on the internet about this.
"Largely due to the success of the Church’s missionary efforts to take the gospel to the remote parts of the earth, it is not surprising that a number of malnourished children are found among Latter-day Saint communities in many countries worldwide. This is an ongoing issue that the federally recognized 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization (which is independent from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) has striven to address for the past six years. Although the Foundation is not directly affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ, it is administered by faithful Latter-day Saints and funded by contributions from Latter-day Saints in the United States and other parts of the world. Based on their experience over the past six years, it is estimated that at present, there are at least 120,000 malnourished LDS children in the world.
"Out of the assessed children, how many were found to be malnourished and qualified for the Liahona Children’s Foundation program?
More than we planned on. About 25% of the 4000 kids 4000 or so children screened were chronically malnourished (>95% LDS). Worldwide, there are 50 million death annually, and 5 million (10%) of those death are due to childhood malnutrition. And while only 10% of malnourished child die; the remaining 90% suffer lifelong cognitive and physical defects that significantly and severely reduce their earning potential as adults, leading to a cycle in which their reduced future earnings lead to their own children being malnourished as well. We estimate 80,000 active LDS children suffer from chronic malnutrition, and about 900 die from malnutrition every year. A similar number of active LDS children are unable to attend elementary school secondary to lack of funding."

who knows, maybe they will even announce another $2 billion mall they're building.
That's so expensive, the average person can't even afford to shop there.

I predict that many people will be disappointed, and then will call themselves to repentance for being disappointed, at which point they will convince themselves that something from conference that was actually rather mundane is somehow miraculous and prophetic.

The Conference will have a 'theme' around the Restoration, The First Vision, the Book of Mormon Translation, etc. Historians will be involved and historical items around this early time will be on display, focused on. Members will see copies of the Printer's Manuscript and the seer stones. The format will completely change to give room for some of these dialogues, some panel discussions with experts and Apostles, etc. It'll then be tied to the Family-Centered aspect of the Nelson era, and we'll all be encouraged to act in our own homes as if the Restoration were to be unfolding in our own families.
Oh, and a Super-neato-Gospel-Choir singing in a style that makes my head implode.

False equivalence fallacy: Just because something is mundane, doesn't mean it isn't necessarily prophetic. Of course, it doesn't mean that it is either.
