I've heard today that there is a patent on this virus, it's probably a biowarfare project produced in a lab -- and there is a biochemical laboratory in Wuhan. It may have been accidentally released or leaked or somehow got out of the laboratory into the population, and there seems to have been a month-long delay in announcing the viral infection as they tried to secretly contain it.

We need to clarify that this is being done only to inbound passengers from certain areas of central China at this point.

Also this is standard procedure when contagious illnesses break out, we did the same with SARS and MERS in 2002 and 2012. I can recall being screened upon entry to Australia from the United States when the U.S. was having a very bad flu season.

This, folks, is why we have the CDC and the U.S. Public Health Service. In the age of ships they used to quarantine whole vessels, thankfully that is not required any longer. However quarantining persons entering the U.S., or any other nation for that matter, has long been employed by public health authorities. In the United States it dates back to 1798 and the establishment of quarantine hospitals for merchant seamen.

The screaming tabloid like treatment of this in the videos below is really not called for. I mean comparing this to Ebola? Really that is over the top. Talk about using scare tactics. This guy does the very thing he accusing others of engaging in.

I mean, I know the news likes to hype up everything, but don't you think that it's better to at least know a little bit of what's going on than to think that nothing is ever serious or could ever happen.
