It took me a minute, but I can only assume that is reference to the number of members of this forum. Please clarify.jaybird wrote:Hello,

I'm sadden that there are only 600 awaken or openly awaken to our awful situation, this is the only forum like this that I know of. So 600 out 13,000,000 members means we have our work cut out for us.hiddentreasuredotws wrote:It took me a minute, but I can only assume that is reference to the number of members of this forum. My friend "introduced" the young men to their "civic duty" during a YM class. It was one of the best classes I have ever attended, but BANG -- next thing I know -- he was released, and that is what he was told was why. If you talk about this stuff up where I live, they consider you apostate, and here it comes from the top down, so there isn't much use fighting it. My wife got canned from the GD teacher position for the same reason, so I'm glad you can and are allowed to pipe up where u are.jaybird wrote:My current calling is a sub Sunday school teacher for the 16 & 17 year olds so during Helaman and Ether I was able to Introduced the above to them, none knew skouzen or crowther or bensons stance on liberlism or socialism. I also make sure I educate the Missionaries when they come over for dinner.
I will remember this info, it could be beneficial if called to a calling you don't enjoy. LOL I try not to bring to much up unless its outside the church, with someone I know, or I can fit it in to the discussion and I am not prompted not to during the discussion.ithink wrote:Welcome, and nice avatar there jaybird.

We educate the missionaries too, but usually they cannot resist reverting to fridge magnets and set a date programs even after we show them section 123. No wonder our ward has had exactly zero baptisms in the last 27 months, which BTW, is exactly the same time since I was canned from the bishopric for the reasons mentioned above. The funny thing, is our entire city and area have grown 40% in the same period of time, which means the ward (which is the same size as it was 6 years ago), is actually, mathematically speaking -- shrinking!!!!
People, wherever you find yourselves, keep up the good work. It could be worse.
Hahaha, funny. If you don't enjoy a calling, just start sharing the gospel according to Mormon!hiddentreasuredotws wrote:I will remember this info, it could be beneficial if called to a calling you don't enjoy. Which just prompted me to think: Since we've been asked not to call ourselves "Mormons", can you guess as to why? Perhaps we no longer honor that name well enough to bear it. Kind of makes ya think.

I believe we've been asked to use the "real" name of the church to reinforce that we are the church of Christ, and it is Him we worship.Which just prompted me to think: Since we've been asked not to call ourselves "Mormons", can you guess as to why
