We love to quote vs 26 but leaving out va 27 would be a detriment to our ability to help anyone long term
Mosiah 4:26... I would that ye should impart of your substance to the poor, every man according to that which he hath, such as feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and administering to their relief, both spiritually and temporally, according to their wants.
27 And see that all these things are done in wisdom and order; for it is not requisite that a man should run faster than he has strength. And again, it is expedient that he should be diligent, that thereby he might win the prize; therefore, all things must be done in order.
Thank heavens the church is trying there best to do things in wisdom and order. And Thank heavens for a prophet like King Benjamin for helping us understand the principle of how to really help the poor. Seems like those requesting we sacrifice all for the sake of Christ don’t really understand how these two Vs. go together and what Christ may have in mind when he says that.
What percentage of vignettes does Christ alleviate poverty with money? ZERO?

President Smith:
There is only one pathway of safety for me in this day and that is to follow those whom the Lord has appointed to lead. I may have my own ideas and opinions, I may set up my own judgment with reference to things, but I know that when my judgment conflicts with the teachings of those that the Lord has given to us to point the way, I should change my course.
///
I stand here to plead with you, my brethren and sisters, not to permit words of criticism or of unkindness to pass your lips about those whom the Lord has called to lead us. Do not be found in the companionship of those who would belittle them or weaken their influence among the children of men. If you do, I can say to you that you will find yourselves in the power of the adversary. You will be influenced by him to go as far as possible from the pathway of truth, and if you do not repent you may find when it is too late that you have lost the “pearl of great price.” Because of your selfishness and your blindness you will have been led away, and your loved ones … will be sorrowing on the other side of the veil because of your weakness and your folly.

I know, ^ sarcasm... but just for the record...
*The church’s righteousness is mostly in the love members show one another - independent of the big guy$ at the top of the pyramid.
*The big guys at the top are misleading people in 2 major ways: financially and in cultish teachings (like following man over God).
