Re: Growing popularity of beards
Next up? Women. Stop shaving legs, face and armpits. We will then arrive to this glorious end:

As long as it is cared for and not the result of negligence, a beard is hot.

Re: Growing popularity of beards
I had a bacterial infection years ago on my cheek and had to stop shaving for a few weeks while it healed. My wife said she liked my face better unshaved. Said it made me look more distinguished. That was about 8 years ago; had one ever since. My mom hates it. Too bad. I'd like it longer- like the "diesel brothers", but my wife likes it much shorter. I have red hair, so I think it looks cool.
I mean, you can't build a log cabin without a beard, right?
No one in our current bishopric has a beard, but the last one did. They all look like boys, but are all very good men. Our bishop is Japanese, so I'm not sure he can even grow a beard.

Yup. That would be Chaz Bono. Used to be Chastity Bono. Daughter of Sony and Cher.

Just correcting what amounted to a terrible thread drift. But I do believe that one advantage of the beard movement is that it goes against androgeny and also makes it harder for the tranny insanity to pull it off.

That there are two non-negotiable genders.
Period. Not question mark.

A get-out-of-jail-free card for men who have no desire to be a bishop, stake president, or temple worker (though leadership roulette could mess that up).

Re: Growing popularity of beards
When I was younger, I noticed that some men looked better with a beard, mustache, or both and some looked worse. My opinion is that if a man wants to grow it, he should. I would not have expected my husband to tell me what length to grow my hair or what color/style to have it, so why should I think I have the right to NOT give him the same respect?

Yes. It started in the early 1960s, I think, and was in full swing for my youth. It was a reaction to the hippies.Summerwind wrote: ↑December 22nd, 2019, 4:26 pm From my understanding there was a period when facial hair and longer hair for men were considered rebellious, and this is when the trend ran counter to what it had previously about beards being more distinguished.

Re: Growing popularity of beards
It can reveal more than you might think (paragraph broken up by me):
Gender and Genetics
Genetic Components of Sex and Gender
Humans are born with 46 chromosomes in 23 pairs. The X and Y chromosomes determine a person’s sex.
Most women are 46XX and most men are 46XY.
Research suggests, however, that in a few births per thousand some individuals will be born with a single sex chromosome (45X or 45Y) (sex monosomies) and some with three or more sex chromosomes (47XXX, 47XYY or 47XXY, etc.) (sex polysomies).
In addition, some males are born 46XX due to the translocation of a tiny section of the sex determining region of the Y chromosome.
Similarly some females are also born 46XY due to mutations in the Y chromosome.
Clearly, there are not only females who are XX and males who are XY, but rather, there is a range of chromosome complements, hormone balances, and phenotypic variations that determine sex.
End of the quote.

Re: Growing popularity of beards
My(newly called)Bishop was bummed that he was going to “have to” shave his beard, but somebody in authority(no idea who) told him that he was under no obligation to do so. He is still sporting the beard.Allison wrote: ↑December 22nd, 2019, 6:56 pm I love nice, full, trimmed beards on men. It’s something no tranny can pull off, so I know I am talking to a real man, not an FTM tranny.
I believe the Brethren will eventually soften the policy on shaving when beards become more ubiquitous in our culture, and more distinguished, as they once were.

Re: Growing popularity of beards
About 25% of the men in the last temple session had beards. 85% were bald/ balding. Correlation? No idea.
