I worked as a Presiding Officer at a busy polling station. A lot of exhasperation with politics over the Brexit fiasco in the House of Commons. A lot of people were angry, especially towards the two-faced politicians who have repeatedly attempted to thwart the will of the people.
Now there is clarity, with many of the "remainers" losing their seats, the threat of socialism removed, and Boris giving his word that Brexit will be done by 31st January, and a free trade deal with the EU concluded by the end of 2020.
Interesting times.

The next high level UK/US summit meeting will be the ultimate in bad hair days.
Oh happy day.....now we have clarity we can look forward to the next agitation, which will roll on for years. Namely the SNP pushing for Scottish independence and the beginning of the end of the Union. And years of good work in Northern Ireland being put in grave danger by upsetting the Unionists. But I'm sure Boris has a plan to deal with all of this because he's going to 'pull the British people together'
The 'British people' have been anything but together since the last long run of Conservative rule under Thatcher and it's not going to change under this clown.
The worrying thing is that he has such a large majority he can now actually do as he wishes...it's a frightening thought.
Remainer? :D
A "Remainer" is someone who wants the UK to remain in the European Union. After the referendum result many remainers accused those who voted to leave i.e. the majority, of being thick or uneducated, of not knowing the facts, of being of low intelligence, not knowing what we were doing, victims of propaganda, rascist, fascist, zenophobic, homophobic, mysoginystic, Nazi's etc.
The became known as "Remoaners".

It seems Striker is a Remoaner.

Well said, Brother Hood. The fascist-left always accuses people who do not agree with its dogma of being the very thing that it is itself.

We Americans have this issue where at the end of an election we hear about a bunch of people who are so upset that they claim they're going to leave and move to <fill in your favorite neighboring country>. It's just a bunch of social media outrage posters throwing a tantrum, and a few celebrities always get involved.

Do you guys have that issue too? Or are you guys more mature?
Only celebrities.
But unfortunately they never follow through.

I regret UK leaving EU so much. Instead of fighting globalists together with visigards, Italians and Austrians, you left. I am happy for you, I am just afraid, now there is less opposition inside the EU, so they will become stronger, will isolate you and crush you. Wish best of luck!

Every time Europeans have attempted to isolate and crush us, we are victorious.
Leaving the EU is the best thing that could happen to this country, and we won't be the last.
I suspect Hungary, Poland, Greece, Italy, Denmark and even eventually France will follow suit.
The EU project is doomed.

The way you describe the Remainers’ actions sounds eerily familiar to US politics—think of when Trump was elected. The liberal elites — and the mainstream media— claimed that Trump voters are uneducated, stupid, and evil. Not to mention fascist, racist, etc.

Trump supporters are still vilified to an astonishing degree.

It's not luck, it's the favour of the Almighty. Nobody's got the better of us on this sceptered isle for 1000 years. Joseph Smith said that God's power would continue with us. Pres. Hinckley knew this and was a confirmed Anglophile.
If the Germans think they can push us around they have clearly failed to learn the lessons of history, and will have to be taught again.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.indy10 ... z1WW%3famp

and was infecting all EU with LGBT agenda and all other garbage from US liberals. Are you running from yourself?

The UK is not the most liberal country in Europe. We've just elected a conservative government in a landslide! Compared to really liberal countries like Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany etc, we're somewhere to the right of Ghengis Khan according to the liberal/socialist snowflakes!
As for your comment about LGBT, it's an east v west issue. Western Europe has fallen under the influence of the sodomites just like you guys and pretty much the rest of the western world. It's taking longer in eastern Europe but the EU will be pushing that agenda there as they blackmail the respective governments by witholding financial support etc.

We only hear news about Brexit too. It's been going on for three and a half years because of corrupt lying politicians trying to thwart the will of the people at every turn. Having thrown those traitors out of parliament and replaced them, we can now get Brexit done and start talking about other things.
The EU Withdrawal Bill passed yesterday. It will now go to the Lords, back to the Commons and receive Royal Assent before the 31st January.

We're leaving the EU because we, the people, never gave consent to be in it in the first place! We want our laws to be made by our elected representatives in Westminster and not by unelected commissioners in Brussels. We want to be free to trade with whomever we want, not with who Brussels tells us we can. We don't want to participate in an EU army designed to poke the Russian bear, we want to put a stop to 400 million people in the EU having the right to come and live here, use our health service, schools etc as well as claim social security etc without us being able to do a thing about it. When I go into town the main language I hear spoken is Polish.... here in Yorkshire!
We're putting a stop to all of that and taking back control of our borders.
It's not that we're running away as you put it, it's that we're taking back control. We understand that the world is bigger than the EU and Britain has always looked further afield. As Winston Churchill said "if Britain is ever faced with a choice between Europe and the world beyond, it must always choose the open sea".
There are countries lining up for a free trade deal with us, including the US.
Interesting times.

The fundamental problem with the UK being a member of the European Union is that the people of the United Kingdom never had much in common with the Europeans and never thought of themselves as Europeans. It was always going to be an ill fitting match from the get go, even more so when the EU changed from being a simple trading block to trying to act as some sort of single unified political and economic entity. There are other nations that view the matter in a similar degree of suspicion, Sweden and Denmark for example have never adopted the Euro.

The UK has far more in common with its former colonial holding such as the United States, Canada, Australia and South Africa than it does with the European nations on the continent. They would be better served by doubling down on the Commonwealth and trying to get the U.S. in as a partner. Nations that they share far more common interests with in the long view.
