“FamilySearch, one of the most comprehensive collections of genealogical data, now “provides the ability” for families to document same-sex family relationships, according to a Tuesday news release from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.”

How many posts until someone laments about how The Church is “in apostasy” or “the end is near!”.
Let us see…

Are you pro-LGBT then, RocknRoll?
I hope you don't misconstue my desire for accuracy in record keeping with being pro lgbt. I think that's a mistake to make that assumption. Same sex marriage is legal and so is adoption and having biological children in a same sex marriage, you can't deny reality and records must be as accurate as they can be
This doesn't force us to seal the same-sex couple together or their children to two mothers or two fathers. We can easily seal children of these unions who join the church to their father and to their mother, with no names, just as was done for illegitimate children who didn't know their parent, or we can simply not do those sealings at this time and seal the ones in their family lines which are man and woman marriages. If they have their endowment, thats what's important. It'll all be straightened out in the Millennium, when we have more help from the other side. God is in charge, we just help.

RocknRoll has a gay son who is either married or in a relationship with another gay man, and he is constantly promoting the Gay Agenda here on LDSFF. He is a bit passive-aggressive, but when I directed him to Mormons Building Bridges, he said that was probably a good forum for him.
But let's not forget we got lots of former lds, some who belong to snuffers church and some who have their own made up church who post here, who try to tear down confidence in the lds church every chance they get. They are often pushing predictions that the church is corrupt, the leaders ready to sell us out or the church is going to allow gay marriage etc. We have to be careful of the many alternate voices here and their hidden agendas. So do you also suggest a good alternative forum for those I've described who hang out here, I mean, as long as you are suggesting some members should find another forum.

Yes, my son is Same-Sex Married. And we have welcomed his husband into our family. I don’t know that I’m “constantly promoting the Gay Agenda”. I just call em’ as I see em’. I just see an awful lot of hate, contempt and misinformation concerning LGBT people on this site and I try to bring a little parity. I guess you could also say that Lizzy is constantly arguing that the Apostles and Prophet are wrong on this issue. I’m sure she’ll disagree.

PS. The new revision to Handbook 1 has been published, and the policy from 2015 has now been officially removed. Hmmm...looks like that also applies to the provisions about children in polygamous households. Unless it was moved to a different section. Maybe someone else can verify.
Yes that's true. I personally agreed with the 2015 policy, but accept their decision to remove it. I felt its purpose was misconstrued and it was doing more damage than helping, I guess. But I'm glad they also removed it for children of polygamous marriages, that was the only fair thing to do iyam.

Maybe the ultimate propose of the switch back and forth is to help train the membership and leadership to not adopt double standards between LGBT and polygamist families (something that is considered daily on this forum, but almost never considered in normal thought and conversation among the average Joes of the church)
