Offended by Truth

Today is Remembrance Day in Canada. This is the first time in my entire life that I I'm really ashamed of our country today and the people in it. This rising generation and new immigrants have really spoiled the culture and identity of Canada. Two great Canadians, who love and support Canada, Don Cherry and William Shatner have both been attacked in the media and on social media today. Don lost his job after almost 40 years on Hockey Night in Canada because he called out new immigrants for not wearing a poppy and supporting those that have protected our country. Don is always supporting the veterans, troops and acknowledges God and Jesus every Christmas on his show.
What makes this really bad is how invasive the progressive and radical left has become in Canada that they are so thin skinned and are so easily triggered at things now, that I think it's become one of the most vile evils the world has never seen before. This is a destructive evil as it affects HOW people live. They trump their cause as standing for moral causes when the truth is actually the complete opposite. The new way of attacking people is to attack their livelihood, attack their job to get them fired. Many companies and organizations are setting job standards that no longer conform with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and as part of working for these companies, you are required to conform.
People are so offended by truth now! They are so deceived by Satan that they don't even acknowledge that there could even be a God (or Satan)!
When I saw what transpired in these articles today, all I got was President Nelson's words about truth from earlier in the year ringing in my mind the entire time. Truth that we are children of God. Truth that we are made in his image, man and female. Truth that we too can become like Him. Truth that this IS the testing ground, mortal life maybe short but it plays a significant role in the eternities.
Don Cherry Fired for Standing Up for Canadian Traditions
Don Cherry is right. More Canadians should be wearing poppies.
And new immigrants to Canada must be taught about our Remembrance Day traditions, be it wearing a poppy or observing a minute of silence on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
Don Cherry must not be censored or de-platformed simply for speaking out on behalf of so many patriotic Canadians — including new Canadians. Aren’t freedom of speech and freedom of expression just a couple of our cherished freedoms that so many patriots gave their lives defending?
But Don Cherry is under attack, especially by those in the Media Party who have always loathed him. They want this national icon off the air and relegated to the scrapheap of obsolescence — simply for making an observation about a troubling trend he'd noticed. These nattering nabobs of negativity want you to believe that Grapes is a racist, but anyone who has dealt with Don Cherry knows this is an outright falsehood.
And where was the outrage from so many in the media when it was discovered that Justin Trudeau had donned blackface and brownface on multiple occasions, so many occasions that not even the Prime Minister knows for sure?
They defended his behaviour, or at the very least, ignored or minimized such odious actions. Clearly, those calling for the removal of Don Cherry from Coach’s Corner subscribe to a different standard when it comes to a personality who leans right-of-centre.
This is wrong, as is the vulgar politicization of Remembrance Day. On this day, we should be honouring those who died, those who served, and those who continue to serve. That’s what Remembrance Day is all about — not some grotesque witch-hunt to de-platform someone for the sin of being politically incorrect.

Don Cherry is right. More Canadians need to wear poppies. Immigrants to Canada need to be taught about our Remembrance Day traditions. And Don Cherry should not be censored for speaking on behalf of so many patriotic Canadians, including new Canadians.
William Shatner takes 'entitled' millennials to task in heated Twitter exchange, calls one a diva and corrects her grammar after she blamed his generation for the 'hardships' she faces
Star Trek actor William Shatner waded into a generational row last night as he took aim at the catchphrase 'OK Boomer' and feuded with a Twitter user who had blamed older people for millennial 'hardships'.
The jibe 'OK Boomer' has become popular among millennials and the younger Generation Z, who use it to show exasperation with older people and their opinions.
One Twitter user aimed it at Shatner yesterday but the Hollywood veteran, who was born in 1931, fired back: 'Sweetheart, that's a compliment for me.'
Another user, Courtney DeCamp, defended the term by saying it was not applied to all older people but only to 'ignorant ones'.
Shatner waded in again, asking: 'And just what are we ignorant about Courtney?
'We don't understand struggles? War? Depressions (economic not personal)? Inflation? Double digit Prime Interest rates?'.
DeCamp retorted that millennials had inherited 'hardships [which] are not their fault' and which many older people did not understand.
But Shatner was having none of it, asking: 'Is that all your generation does is point fingers and blame others for their pity parties?'
