Thanks to gospeltangents.com for this. For more on the infamous Frank Worrell, see Porter Rockwell posts on this part of the forum.
What follows, may have been the last prophesy given by the Prophet Joseph, and a chilling story about early Mormon convert Dan Jones.

They’re lying on the floor and Joseph offers his arm to Dan for a pillow. They’re sitting there talking about life and death and asked if they were ready to die. They suspected that the end might be there. Dan says, “Well, I think I’m ready to die.” Joseph gives his last prophecy. He gives it to Dan Jones, who was converted because of Thomas Sharp and had just talked to Frank Worrell. Joseph says, “Dan you will yet see Wales and fulfill the mission appointed to you.”

This is that night. The next morning Dan Jones is in the jail. Joseph says, “I’m not feeling good about things. Will you go and get my attorney down in Quincy?” Dan says, “Sure, I’ll leave,” and as he leaves. He goes down the stairs and gets on his horse, and as he leaves he’s shot at by some anti-Mormon mobster. He gets so turned around, he actually takes the wrong road out of town, not to Quincy and he later learns that there was a mob of several hundred people just down the road waiting to kill him, if he went down to Quincy. The mob was on the correct road. Dan got confused and turned and went down the wrong road and it saved his life. Otherwise, he would have been killed.https://gospeltangents.com/2019/08/

I have several letters from Dan Jones that were printed in various church publications. He went on to fulfill an amazing mission.

Yes he did. Did you see this unbelievable yet it happened, prophesy about Porter Rockwell that has been posted on the forum? George Q Cannon wrote, “There seemed no human possibility of Porter Rockwell's deliverance; his murder was decreed before his arrest; and no one of the brethren would be permitted to enter Missouri to assist him with advice or bail, under penalty of death. And yet on the 15th day of March the Prophet publicly declared: ‘In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I prophecy that Orrin P. Rockwell will get away honorably from the Missourians.” (HC 5:3)
There are hundreds like these.recorded by eye witnesses from the Prophet Joseph, hundreds. Along with these, and the many thousands of personal experiences of other saints, some of which are written about on this forum, and our own opportunities for personal revelation as well. When we study and learn, I am reminded of a Ronald Reagan quote. Apply it to the enemies of the gospel.
“It isn't so much that liberals are ignorant. It's just that they know so many things that aren't so.”
― Ronald Reagan LOL!
If you don't agree with Pres. Reagan's politics(I did agree, and still do), you can still get the meaning of what I am trying to put across. Thank God for confirming personal revelation, and including sacred things that have been recorded and shared with us, that we may not dwindle in unbelief. Many of these experiences are found in the scriptures, many are not, but are none the less also true.

You can very easily apply Ronnie's quote to the Latter-day Saints themselves. I am continually amazed at the ignorance of the membership and not just of things that are happening in the world but within the doctrines of the Gospel. Our area Seventy is in my ward and I had a brief conversation with him last year. I wasn't impressed with his deep Gospel knowledge. I kinda expect that from your average member. Most of them can tell you all about their favorite sports team or everything about Stargate SG-1 but if you try and talk about anything at a medium-shallow depth and they start drowning. I hear false doctrine all the time and it is based on false tradition and inherited lies. Even our BYU scholars write false doctrine. In one of his books (can't remember which one), Robert Millet included a verse of scripture to make his point about those who were returning back to God. He wrote it like this:
56 And at that day, when I shall come in my glory, shall the parable be fulfilled which I spake concerning the ten virgins.
57 For they that are wise and have received the truth, and have taken the Holy Spirit for their guide...have not been deceived—verily I say unto you, they shall not be hewn down and cast into the fire, but shall abide the day.
(Doctrine and Covenants 45:56–57)
Notice the ellipsis (...) in verse 57? The purpose of an ellipsis is to indicate that extraneous information was deleted. Anytime I see a quote that includes the ellipsis, I always look up the quote to see not only what was deleted, but the before and after so that I can assure myself that the author did not take the original quote out of context. In the case of verse 57, when written with the ellipsis, this verse states that if you have taken the Holy Spirit as your guide, you are not deceived. Here is that verse without the ellipsis.
For they that are wise and have received the truth, and have taken the Holy Spirit for their guide, and have not been deceived—verily I say unto you, they shall not be hewn down and cast into the fire, but shall abide the day.
He left out a comma along with the conjunction, "and," which changes the meaning from what Millet was trying to say. The original verse indicates that there are three qualifications for being one of the wise virgins.
1. You have received the truth
2. Taken the Holy Spirit as your guide
3. Have not been deceived
The way Millet wrote that verse, it gives only two qualifications. You can still be deceived even if you've taken the Holy Spirit as your guide by listening to your own wisdom, among other things.
