I'm embarrassed to have Mitt Romney as my senator.

He's a gad.
He's there for money and power not to benefit the best interests of the American people..
U.S. Sen. Mitt Romney said Monday that he believes climate change is happening and human activity is a significant contributor.
During a speech at the conservative Sutherland Institute in Salt Lake City, the senator acknowledged that the position is rare among his fellow Republicans, but one that younger people seem to respond to more strongly than older conservatives.
“In some respects, (by speaking with newer conservatives), I’ll be able to make inroads with some of the young people coming along,” he said…
…The U.S. should instead provide incentivizes for entrepreneurs to develop cleaner energy sources while also helping people who work in industries that could be left behind, such as coal mining, he added.
“I’m not willing to sit by if there are major sectors that are losers … and watch people and communities suffer because of that change,” he said.
Romney discussed the benefits of a carbon tax, a fee based on each ton of carbon dioxide emissions produced by fossil fuels that some major oil companies have adopted.

Romney will say whatever he believes will get him money, popularity, and power. Anyone familiar with the Book of Mormon knows what it has to say about this sort of person.

Didn't you hear? Climategate was contrived to control the private sector. That's old news! I love saying that to folks on the street trying to get signatures for climate change propaganda.
Like Russiagate, the libs will just continue lying and pretending they were never outed. *insert ex wife joke here*
You know, justme, I'm trying to do better and give the benefit of the doubt. Upon further introspection, I suppose one
can synthesize the doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with climate change. Usually, my mind goes straight to this godless lot who believes mankind is a stain upon the earth - a disease as Agent Smith puts it - and that there is no God ultimately in control of our destiny. However, the truth isn't that far off ... a closer look at the scriptures does in fact suggest man-made climate change!
JST Matthew:4 And Jesus left them, and went upon the Mount of Olives. And as he sat upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying: Tell us when shall these things be which thou hast said concerning the destruction of the temple, and the Jews; and what is the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world, or the destruction of the wicked, which is the end of the world?
Revelation 8:5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.
So whether these thunderings, lightnings, earthquakes, and other earth changes occur because of the wickedness of the ... wicked or whether the angels who cause these things to happen - who themselves are men .... we have man-made climate change! Huzzah!
I just don't see how a slimy, dishonest carbon tax has anything to do with this. This is just yet another facet of the ongoing war in heaven - liberty versus compulsion & control.
Perhaps angel-made climate change is a better way of putting things in perspective

I was so pro Mitt Romney when he ran for President, and I still think he was the better alternative to Obama. BUT, he is truly a dissapointment, I think it's sour grapes because he lost and he's actuallly a liberal at heart. The way he spoke of Trump was a dissapointment also, more sour grapes. He's just a spoiled rich kid in my opinion.

Carbon taxes are a scam. Even if we were primarily responsible for global warming it wouldn’t change anything. It’s like finding out that our plastic straws make up like 0.00002% of the plastic in the ocean. The foretold destructions of the last days are gonna happen no matter what. It would be way better to focus on emergency preparedness as opposed to trying to stop the disaster. It’s coming for us. However, I do believe that global warming is inherently a good thing as it’s helping us return to edenic like conditions.

Then I suppose you have stopped driving your car so as to save on fuel so that the wealthy can fly around and lecture us on "carbon emissions."

So, it was disappointing for me to hear him validating part of the globalists' agenda. He used a few buzzwords that they always use as he discussed it. Made me feel like maybe he's in on it and, perhaps, by logical extension, the church is, too. Or, they actually believe the propaganda they see, all dressed up as news and education. Not sure what to think, but it's not a positive development. Certainly, that audience of young college students would be inclined to suppose it's a true principle, having come from an Apostle's mouth. I don't think he'd mention such things to the older generation.

And if those students read the Deseret News article I linked on another recent thread then that will reinforce the idea that the Church has accepted the Gore agenda as Gospel principle.
I have always supported wise use of the resources we have been given, but there is way more to the agenda that is being promoted by the climate change people than that. Not sure Elder Oaks is either aware of that agenda, or that he is much an expert on the topic in regards to climate in the first place.

You're embarrassed to have Mr. Soundbite as your senator? I'm embarrassed to have him as a member of the Church. He's in the same category as Harry Reid, although I'm not really sure if Mitt is a Gadianton. Harry sure is, but I think Mitt is just a stooge used by the Gads. He just isn't smart enough to be a Gadianton and he doesn't have a drop of common sense. Mitt's the type who would lean his head out of the car and spit into the wind. If there's anyone who flip-flops more than he does, I've yet to find him.
What blows me away are the members who voted for him cannot see through his act; he doesn't even qualify to be in a three-ring circus. Where did they get their ability to discern? From a Cracker Jack box? He looks good in a suit and his wife has MS; so what! He's dumber than a box of rocks.

I read early this morning that this was the hottest July on record. The questions I have are these.
First off how long have thermostats been in existence?
They have record of July's temperature back to the beginning of Earth's existence?
How long has July been a month measured in time?

Check out some of his videos, they’re very eye opening. For the last 10-15 years there has been rampant tampering of data.

It was two years ago, 2017. The title of his speech is, ironically, "Push Back Against the World" - I say it's an ironic title, because Oaks does just the opposite of "pushing back against the world" when he falls for the lie of global warming, and when he disses the sitting U.S. president, essentially calling him names. Here is the part of his speech that is being referred to (see link below for the entire speech) -
"These are challenging times, filled with big worries: wars and rumors of wars, possible epidemics of infectious diseases, droughts, floods, and
global warming. Seacoast cities are concerned with the rising level of the ocean, which will bring ocean tides to their doorsteps or over their thresholds.
Global warming is also affecting agriculture and wildlife. Nations whose prosperity depends on world peace and free trade worry about disturbing developments that threaten either or both of these.
We are even challenged by the politics of conflict and the uncertainties sponsored by the aggressive new presidential administration in the world’s most powerful nation."

I found the talk. It's all good stuff, but here's the part where he talks about global warming and apprehension about Trump (things that certainly "go together" with globalist thinking):
