In the past, Salt lake has instructed patriarchs to not say certain things. Well, that's what I've heard from 4th-hand sources (real reliable, huh).
Does anyone have insight about that?
Our stake patriarch spoke today and said the video instruction he got from Pres. Hinckley says not to say anything about the 2nd coming
Why would your patriarch share something like this with members? It's obviously old instructions, what point was the patriarch trying to make? What was the reason for this counsel from pres Hinckley?

It is stilled used as training. He was called as a patriarch after Hinckley died

I have a friend who is a patriarch, who said he had been instructed not to say anything about the Second Coming.

They've been saying second coming statements (Come forth in the first resurrection, Live to see Christ in the flesh, etc.) since the beginning and all of those people are dead. There are plenty of resources on the web if your interested in checking them out.

What ya think handbook number One, says on the subject ?
How many handbooks exist
Mine says to continue my career in electronics, so I did, and seems stuff is happening like when dude washed seven times, or some story to the effect, that commands need not be grand or complicated ...
7yrs, gbng, mrgreen and flying colors are a few direct hits foreshadowing similar outcome of said story.

Mine doesn't say that I will come forth in the resurrection. Does that mean that I won't come forth in the first one? I always wondered why mine didn't say that.

My Patriarchal blessing is two pages long, and the last paragraph of it states;
"I seal you up to come forth in the Morning of the First Resurrection to receive the blessings which have been pronounced upon your head, according to your faithfulness. I do this by the power of the Holy Melchizedek Priesthood and in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen."
I am 28 years old.

FYI- the Temple marriage covenant specifies the morning of the first resurrection.

I believe those dead in Christ AND those alive at the time who are worthy will be raised together to meet him in the air.

Mine doesn’t either. Mine states that “finally, that wonderful day will come” when I will rise....
I have wondered if I will be alive or already dead when the Savior returns. For what it’s worth I do not feel I will be alive at the time. I’m a millennial, barely.

My mother’s blessing says she will live “nigh to the day.” She is 56. Probably has a good 20 years at least left.
It really is true that it doesn’t matter whether we are here or not. We are all part of the preparation by raising a link in the generational chain leading up to the generation that will be here. And we will all witness the events on one side or the other.
I’m an impatient person. That’s probably one reason I’m so excited for things to happen sooner than later.

Mine says I will be among those who welcome Him upon His arrival and it will be my privilege to assist Him with the governance of the affairs of Earth.
I'm sure the janitors union will need someone to be their secretary - Mr. Secretary of the Janitor's union.

Put in a good word for me to the President of the Janitor's union. I gotta get claimed before the sunday school union is looking for someone to teach a class.

Mine says I will (morning of), and I thought that meant I would die before Christ's Millennial reign. In other words, I think there's a possibility you may still be alive when Christ returns - so your resurrection would be in the twinkling of an eye (according to the D&C), instead of a "coming forth" (which I understand to mean a coming forth out of the grave to reclaim one's body).

Or the patriarch forgot to mention it - which could conceivably happen.
The important thing is that God knows you, and offers you every blessing he can, no matter what your blessing may or may not say.

No idea what its like for Patriarchs or others, but when I get revelation or give blessings I feel instantly impressed with a shard of pure truth. Next step of of putting it into words, decisions, or actions can be a real struggle..
Because my brain responds to information like a pounding blacksmith but spiritual things are more like growing a garden this contradiction makes me prone to error. Looking back in my life I have never received an impression that proved wrong its always been my compromised interpretation. Its been a growing process learning to improve my accuracy by testing it for ego, insecurity, and other such common failures listed in, IIRC, section 121. I explain this because I have learned to give those who must turn revelation into words and actions like Patriarchs and Prophets a lot of leeway on specific verbiage selected.
I believe this is is why it takes both speaking by the spirit and the listening through the spirit for truths to be accurately conveyed.

No need to think or worry about it. JESUS IS COMING VERY, VERY SOON. No decades of waiting, nor even a decade to wait. Unless you die very early you will be present at His coming. Can't you not see what president Nelson has been saying lately? His hints are becoming plainer every time.

All righteous people will be present at His coming. Whether in a physical body, or as a spirit, it matters not. No worthy person will miss the Lord's 2nd Coming in glory, regardless of which side of the veil they are on.

My mom, dad, and my older brother have this in their blessings, but mine, my younger bro, and younger sister do not. Personal revelation makes it obvious why. We will not indeed be in the first resurrection because we will still be living. Only time will tell.

It may be 10 years away. Things take time. The collapse of the society may take that long. If we follow the timeline of the incoming solar minimum, it will take that long. It may collapse next year, but the cleansing might take a while etc.

Plenty of life left. Now it's your task to learn what that all means (as I am sure you are well aware.) Righteousness isn't simply obeying commandment, but it's constant study and informational increase, aka, learning. Find out real history and the future unlocks itself. Hint hint, accretion theory is a lie.
