I am a very young 65. (I don't think I look my age at all.) I have six children and 11 grandchildren. I have always been interested in Last Days stuff. I think the book by Crowther was one of the first. Then I read None Dare Call it Conspiracy in the early 70's. I lived in California at the time. But I've lived in the SL area for the past 35 years. Anyway, over the years I've become more and more aware of conspiracy theories and my conclusion is that there's a lot of truth in them.
I have watched our freedoms dwindle through the years. My children don't seem to understand how much things have changed but I can see it. I used to read the prophecies of the last days and couldn't fathom how many of them could happen. Now it's becoming clearer and clearer.
My husband and I have always been interested in food storage. I'm grateful for that. We were Service missionaries at the Dry Pack cannery and we learned a lot from that. I was the Gospel Doctrine teacher until I took on some family responsibilities that were very heavy and had to give it up for a time. I tried to help my class see that the promises to America are conditional, and we need to be watchful. But some class members took exception and told me that Pres. Hinckley was an optimist and that we were still a great country.
I agree that many Americans are wonderful and righteous but I'm convinced our government is not.
A very good book is called Beneath the Tide and is written by Ken Bowers...an LDS author.
