Are we closer than I thought?

I usually don't think too much on the signs of the times and have always assumed that they would most likely not be in my lifetime. At least that is what I concluded when I was a missionary and was studying more into the end times and last days.
Over the last week I have had two really strange reminders of things that I felt like sharing.
First: A story about a city (Miejsce Odrzańskie) in Poland where for the last 12 years no males have been born. In contrast to the Indian fears of female infanticide or "feticide", I believe they call it, this seems to be related more to genetics and is being considered as more of a genetic anomaly.
https://www.newsweek.com/baby-boys-only ... nd-1451566
While reading about this town I had the distinct reminder of Isaiah 4:1 "And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach."
Second: The FBI announced that conspiracy theories are considered a domestic terrorism threat, and is caused in part by: “the uncovering of real conspiracies or cover-ups involving illegal, harmful, or unconstitutional activities by government officials or leading political figures.”
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/fbi-dome ... b57fc91818
It made me recall Brigham Young's statement: "when the Constitution of the United States hangs, as it were, upon a single thread, they will have to call for the 'Mormon' Elders to save it from utter destruction; and they will step forth and do it." (Journal of Discourses, vol. 2, p. 182.) While finding that quote I came across this one by J reuben Clark:"You and I have heard all our lives that the time may come when the Constitution may hang by a thread.... I do know that whether it shall live or die is now in the balance." (Conference Report. October 1942)
If it was in the balance 77 years ago, is there no hope for the constitution? I know that seems like a bleak question but I really struggle with it in our current political climate.
I was more hopeful that the constitution could be saved until I read the way Orson Hyde worded it: "the time would come when the Constitution and the country would be in danger of an overthrow; and... if the Constitution be saved at all, it will be by the elders of [the LDS] Church."(Journal of Discourses, vol. 6, p. 152.)
To tie this in to my subject, are we actually beginning to see the end times prophecies coming to fruition or are these just hints to it and when they actually happen it will be as plain as day?

In short, yes we are closer than you thought. A lot closer. Hang on for the ride. Do your ministering, as assigned and inspired! Love your family more than ever! Now is the time to be found doing right. Glad you are listening!

Jesus will come when the Father tells him to come. Like Gandalf He will never be late or early, He will be on time. And there is absolutely nothing that Satan or the world can do about it. I personally think it will be sooner than we expect. I suspect that the bulk of the work that needs to completed "before the End comes" will actually be completed in the Milenneum. The Lord will cut short His work for our sakes. But I have no more evidence for this other than a gut feeling, so take this with a grain of salt.

Joseph Smith and the early Saints believed it would happen during their time. There were world-wide events and disasters just like now. The area Joseph lived in as a young man literally had ice on the crops in July....no summer whatsoever. Many people starved and others forced to migrate west at this time.
Today.....we are simply more aware of the things that are happening here and abroad. Maybe Jesus taught there would be an increase in wars and famines because we simply become more aware of them. We've had some pretty bad genocide and wars in the past 30 years.......but NOTHING like we've had in history. Mankind has actually made some amazing progress in all respects.

Thanks! it could also just be a question of ratios. After looking at another article its only a town of about 300 people, so it may not mean anything, it just triggered a thought that I hadn't concerned myself with for years.

In Rome President Nelson said:
“This is a hinge point in the history of the Church. Things are going to move forward at an accelerated pace of which this is a part. We think the Church is an old Church. It’s 189 years old. But it’s only the beginning. Just project out what the next future will be and the Church is going to have an unprecedented future. Unparalleled. We’re just building up to what’s ahead now.”
Hmmm... "an unprecedented future. Unparalleled"... like maybe a future that includes the great assembly at Adam Ondi Ahman?
Commenting on what President Nelson said, Elder David A. Bednar said this marks:
“the beginning of something very majestic, and President Nelson has already highlighted the fact that this experience here is a hinge point not just for the Church in this temple district, but in all the world.”
So, we are apparently already at the "hinge point". And of course, we all know that President Nelson has said "Time is running out" and "it's going to be exciting".
Are you EXCITED?

No, because I haven't learned how to minister in a higher and holier way yet. I've still got a long way to go to be ready for this.

Just curious, what’s your reasoning for it being in the 24th century?

I've heard too many predictions that X would happen in the next 1, 2, 5, 10 years, etc, and then nothing happens. So, why not just say it will be three or four hundred years away. No specific reasoning.

I doubt we're 30 or 40 years off. This next decade is going to be a testing ground to weed out the tares for sure.

When it comes, it will take most believers by surprise, just as the Messiah did the first time He came! If you are waiting for most people to see Him coming first, His feet will already be upon the Mount of Olives.
So what am I saying? Look for the one or two who have the fruits of the spirit, that the spirit is with them... and if they see things, and declare the signs of the times, believe! The majority will never see it coming, and we will always have false ministers and lying spirits among us. Almost every generation has thought it will be in their time, but the problem is, EVERYTHING that is to be accomplished prior must be done before hand, yet almost no one knows these types and shadows.
So how do I know of His coming? Personal Revelation, and the thousands of witnesses received to my thousands of requests for another witness. We are to walk by fear and trembling, to the might and power of His perfections. If He says so... IT IS SO!!!!

In April conference of 2018 President Nelson said:
"Our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, will perform some of His mightiest works between now and when He comes again. We will see miraculous indications that God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, preside over this Church in majesty and glory. But in coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost."
If President Nelson is speaking in terms of the McConkie version of the Second Coming where Adam Ondi Ahman is considered to be a prelude to the Lord's coming, it may well be that he is describing AOA in his statement above. AOA would be "between now and when He comes again" in that case. However, if we don't have "the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost" we might well miss what he is trying to teach us.

For over 59 years since I joined the Church I have been hearing we are close. Admittedly, every day brings us that much closer, but I think it is God's intent that we be taken by surprise.

The first biggest moment of surprise ahead of us is when the 7th seal is opened. The 7th seal happens first because it was the first written and sealed with an internal seal. The first seal is the first seal opened but it was the last seal placed as the scroll was finished. The gathering of the wheat into the Father's barn is at the end of the 7th seal and the commencement of the 6th seal. We know that the 7th seal last at least five months. The five months is the 5th trumpet. We do not know how long the 1st thru 4th trumpet last or how long the 6th trumpet last. Then the 7th trumpet is the end. There is time no longer as the day of the Lord has arrived.

It is true that no man knows the hour of His coming and that he comes as a thief in the night. However, I do not believe that those who are watching (as we are told to do) will really be too surprised at all. Its my personal belief that one can know the general time of his arrival.

The problem with waiting for the Church's headquarter to move to Missouri is that it might be too late to awake by then. The Church might move when things go really bad in the west: Chinese-Russian invasion, huge earthquakes, civil war... or all at once. It might the sign that the Lord gives the prophet. And yes, it could be some conventional revelation to the prophet.

I wonder if the church headquarters is really going to be in Missouri before the Savior returns. Maybe once the AOD meeting takes place (if it hasn't already) things will be in a quick and massive shift towards Missouri. Then SLC will just be part of the total area. The temple there is so important to us but I do not see it moving or becoming less important to the members, although it could once the Savior establishes something different.
I will add that any saint who waits for such changes and shift in the world and church has already become in danger of waiting too long. Just like we embody the same spirit (attitude and character) after death as we had when we died despite being in a different realm, we likely won’t wake up any easier once stuff rolls through if we weren’t awake already. It just may be the time that our true natures are revealed and were either going to improve or get worse very quickly.

I personally believe we are at a precipice of a pride cycle; teetering ominously over a ledge, knowing the inevitable free fall is but one sudden movement away. At times I find myself comparing us with the Nephites and the Russians with the lamanites...wondering if the righteousness of their people exceeds that of our own.
I wish we had hundreds of years... but the spirit tells me something different. The times of the gentiles are fulfilled. America has rejected the prophets and refused to repent. God will have a humble people who inhabit this land. In the near future the saints will be trodden down, persecuted, and brought into captivity. This will purify, sanctify, and qualify us finally for Zion and the cleansing of America.
I’ll say it again...we are at 3 Nephi 6:27-30 right now in our country. When the IG releases his report and John Duram finishes his investigation...it will look like justice will finally come to the corrupt “judges”. Unfortunately justice will never be served due to “secret combinations” and the murder of the chief judge while on his judgement seat...3 Nephi 7:1.
