Re: Earth's Core Has Been Leaking for 2.5 Billion Years
I have read this book. Some of it rings true, but other stuff like God using different species or life to essentially “terraform” the earth is not. I used to lean toward believing that due to this book, however as Jeffrey R. Holland testified recently , “There was no death before the fall.” If any theory includes death before Adam and Eve fell, it is false. Sorry Larsenb and brianj, your credentials as geologists means nothing compared to the testimony of a living prophet. All that life, that was buried under layers of sediment, happened during the flood. The Bible explains how all that sediment formed. Best part about the flood legend recorded around the world is it isn’t a theory, it is a fact.

In my experience, listing accademic credentials in peer-reviewed articles is not a general practise at all. Any biographical information that might appear is usually confined to institute affiliation.brianj wrote: ↑July 23rd, 2019, 9:14 pmTo be fair, most academics I have known will mention their doctorate on published works. . . . .justme wrote: ↑July 23rd, 2019, 8:32 pmJust a quick hint: It is often a red flag when someone puts Ph.D. after their name. This may differ in some fields but is not common at all in the sciences. I know I have never put it after my name in my career. On rare occasion in formal correspondence I may put the Dr. before the name.
The only accademic institute I've attended where PhD Professors are referred to as Dr. so-and-so, is BYU.

Could you supply a link/reference to the talk where Jeffrey R. Holland said this? I'm curious about the context.GrandMasterB wrote: ↑July 23rd, 2019, 11:15 pmI have read this book. And GMB, I'm not standing on credentials, I just happen to know something about the evidence . . . having studied it.
It's always amazing to me when someone makes public statements against something when they show no indication they have any understanding of the evidence for something.
Risky business, imho.
